With all due respect to the seriousness of the topic, autism, mercury etc., you have just made my day, I love Jon Stewart. I didn’t think I would be able to get The Daily Show in CR. How’s that 3.o dish working out for you? Do you still lose the signal in a downpour? If you don’t mind me asking, what do they charge to get the large dish and service?

Those “foreigners” should have been more diligent and vigilant before and during construction. Don’t assume, everyone is that ignorant. Your knowledge and experience is only surpassed by your sarcasm.

The Pre-fab concrete panel homes are completely reinforced, and completely finished inside and out to your specifications. You can design your own layout. They are strong and can handle seismic activity, they are certainly not sheds.

Maybe he was referring to Capital Gains taxes, if you sell your real estate in CR , and come away with a truck load of money. Then it would be income, that would have to be declared on your income taxes if you still hold U.S. citizenship. The U.S. can not collect any property taxes in a foreign country.

There are Pre-fab concrete panel homes that they build right on site. They can be constructed pretty quickly, and are pretty reasonable to build. Scott did a story on a company in Escazu who built them about a year and a half ago. You can do a regular search and find a couple of other companies that do the same thing.

I read somewhere that if you put a dryer sheet (fabric softner sheet), in your pocket, that skeeters won’t bother you. I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. Who knows, it might work.

The U.S. can’t stop dealing with China. China holds the paper on so much U.S. debt, if they ever called in the loans China would own the U.S.

There must be some place you can get fresh fish and shrimp from the Pacific fishing boats. It may be worth a drive to the coast, and bring back the fresh stuff right off the boats and freeze it.

Luckily I live in Florida, so we can easily get fresh seafood out of the Gulf or the Atlantic. I always ask where it came from, and if they can’t assure me of it’s origin, I don’t buy it. I usually stick to local shrimp, but, I’ve had a hankerin’ for some scallops. The bay scallops are just coming in to season, so I may give some of those a try.

The 2002 Farm bill passed by Congress mandated country-of-origin labeling for seafood, beef, lamb, pork, fish, fruits, vegetables and peanuts, but the Bush administration has delayed its implementation for everything except seafood until October 2008.

    Why doesn’t this surprise me!

I just heard that so far, they have identified over 180 plants in china, that are using chemical compounds in their products, (that shouldn’t be there). Also, in Bejjing the pig farmers inject their pigs with water, to make them weigh more at market. The problem is the water is contaminated. I sure hope they are not shipping any ham, pork or bacon to the U.S. or CR. You don’t want to eat any farm raised fish or shrimp in the U.S. either, because the food came from Canada, who bought the ingredients from China. If it didn’t come out of the ocean don’t eat it.

We forgot to mention the toys made in China that are being recalled. The trains that are made with lead paint and other toys. I read that over 80% of childrens toys are made in China. So be careful when your shopping for the kids and grandkids. Is anything safe anymore?

It can’t be above 85 at any (take off or landing) location along the way to your final destination. In some locations that may be iffy this time of year, especially in the south. The smaller Airports are not open all night. Even BWI never used to stay open all night, unless that’s changed. All you can do is hope that there is no heat wave when your ready to go. Good luck with your trip, hope everything goes smoothly for you and your new pup.

There may be some good news on the horizon. Deep down in the middle of my newspaper today, there was a little tiny article that said, that the FDA is making a rule that all manufacturers test all ingredients in products such as supplements and other health care items. Even those that are not listed in the ingredients. This testing will be phased in. Things don’t usually happen very quickly, so we will still have to be carefull. At least it’s a start.
