Thank you Cindyc. I really appreciate this information, as I am in the market for furniture for a condo we have bought in CR and so far have not found anything to suit my tastes. This helps my search.

Thank you very much ssure, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my query. As you suggest we will probably try the lawyer, MP route although none of this sounds very promising. If we go ahead with this I will let you know how it all turns out. This sounds like it could take ages, I think the worst part is that they have to purchase return tickets first. Talk about nightmares in Costa Rica, they are nothing compared to this!

Right on Vegasknite. I am Canadian, and I love the US, where I have many friends and relatives living. I love Canada too, and I love Costa Rica. Everyone, please remember that none of this would be going on if 9/11 had not happened, and we should all remember that.
Never mind why it happened, it did! Thats all I’m going to say on the subject.

I have been using Dave Clark’s Visual Link Spanish for the past two years with some success. I am now at the intermediate level, according to friends. When I started I didn’t even know the word “hola” and I am very pleased with my progress, You can search this site to get info on the program.

To add to what Raven posted, I would like to say that my Tica friend had her baby with the father in attendance. I am sorry I do not know at which hospital, but could probably find out that information.

aguirrewar; I am aware of that, and do realize that we are being monitored as well, although not to the extent or being harassed; at least I have not been yet, but I am sure that is always a possibility.I also read that our government (Canadian) monitors all our spending habits when we are abroad, and know exactly where we stay, eat and sleep. Well, I can’t change it and I suspect none of the voting public can, so you know what? stay on the right side of the law, live life to the fullest, and don’t worry about it.You’ll live longer!

Wow, hubbie and I may drive to the USA, as customs is not as invasive when driving, but flying forget it. I couldn’t stand that hassle, I’m afraid I would “lose it” Thank goodness there are direct flights from Toronto to Costa Rica and we are not that paranoid here yet, but I am sure it is coming here also.
