Does anyone have any realtor recommendations for this area?
are you talking about the area near Luna Azul hotel?
if so,,,,,,,,we bought property there several yrs ago using Century 21…
2 of the people who worked there when we bought, no longer are there including the guy who sold us the land.. but the company is……that is not a reccomendation
the office is in Playa Guiones (Nosara)…we have found that EVERYONE sells real estate in CR.. the car rental guy knows of a house, the gardener, the surf dude…
the fact that the area is quiet, is why we bought there…if you know u like the area drive into PG and ck out several of the RE offices and talk to EVERYONE…it is a small town and have a lawyer lined up…don’t use theirs…JMO…
GOOD LUCK

We have visited CR 6 times
we started in Pavones and have traveled up to Tamarindo
we found our heaven in and around Nosara…we love the beach and bought land in Ostional….high on a hill overlooking ocean and farm land….that was 4 yrs ago…like i said we have yet to go to the caribean side but as far as deciding WHERE we will end up who knows…once we are able to retire in CR, we will travel the country staying in areas we like for long periods of time…that is the only way to see if you fit in…
There are good and bad sides to Playa Guiones….but pros out weigh the bad
good luck
i will email you privately when i find more time….ahhhhhhhh CR

good morning
i am so jealous you get to move before us!!!
we have not started any proceedings….as i said Playa Guiones is our favorite area and each time we go, we meet more people and get the real info about living there. we are torn as to start proceedings before new immigration laws kick in….or wait til we make the move…my husband will spend this next summer there getting dental work done and surfing of course
we live in Cardiff by the Sea
i’d love to talk to you also but don’t know if we can exchange emails via this site

we spend every summer in Playas Guiones.,,,Nosara…..i love the fact that the roads are as they are,,,,,we bought property near by and the road there is awful,,,,,,,,,gotta love it….i don’t want to be like Tamarindo or any other beach town….have u seen Mal Pais? great if u are 20 something…the building is crazy and out of control….
forget it……..i love the rutted roads and the bumps and lumps we take to get to paradise

Have you used the solar water heaters in the US or in Costa? I also think that it is a waste of sunshine not to use its benefits,,,,,and in CR there is so much sunshine i don’t understand why it is not used more often

this is so unbelievable…..i have just returned from CR and talked with a neighbor who brought her 2 Tibetan Terriers via luggage….she paid $100 for each crate….picked up the crates from the large baggage area….where the surfboards are, and then went to customs….no problem at all….when the got out front of hotel, took dogs to grass area to relieve themselves…..pura vida
she did a lot of research after hearing so many horrible tales,,,then she called the US embassy and was told the correct info….
the only restriction seems to be the weather temp when u land…the airlines can tell u the info on that
