I guess my thought is so many people went to Costa Rica to buy “bargain” properties that the price went up,, and up, and up and many people paid way too much. Just in the States people are greedy and stupid. I have been a Realtor for 30 + years and have seen this happen time and time again. When I see posts on this sight for Condo for only $350,000 or bargin homes for less than $400,000 Those are U.S. prices and can not and will not be sustained unless you are looking to the future of C.R. in 2040. WE will then probably look back and say….gee what a deal that was….but I for one will be long gone. Real Estate booms and then it crashes…always has and always will

Hi Terry From Texas. I traveled two times for 3 months each time in the past 3 years. I indeed traveled very very inexpensively. I Never paid over $15.00 per night and on the Carribian side stayed in a wonderful “bungalo 1 bedroom, living room Kitchen bath…very clean and nice for $150.00 month…1 block to the beach and the state park. I traveled by bus everywhere and never had a problem….I did do some research on the computer before going. I checked out some of the places I wanted to go and then looked up inexpensive places to stay….I virtually have done a huge coverage of C.R. and did it very very cheap….and safe. Same with food…local bars and smaller places have good food and not the fancy hotel or big prices.
    good luck

My suggestion is something you never touch on. maybe it lacks glammor but you have homes from “just”199,000″etc. for many folks it might well as be starting at just 2 million. I know from first hand on the spot checking that there are many really great very cheap deals.and I have been in contact with several members of this site that gave me the leads. I personally saw properties in the 40-60,000 one How about some articles or info on low low budget housing. I know for all those with big or medium. bucks this is a poo. poo. but I am sure there are even more too embarrased or unknowing that this market does exist. WEll?///I stayed in many very acceptable places…like on the Carribian side for $175 a month for a full private cabania just across the street from the sea and 100 yards to the national park with tons of very nice beaches… There is a fair to abundent properties if one is willing to look. and for sure there can be found examples available.

DON’T BET ON IT…THE U.S. HAS ABSOLUTELY TURNED THE CORNER YEARS AGO….IF YOU QUESTION THE INTENTIONS FOT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT YOU HAVE SADLY MISS WHAT IS GOING ON….JUST LIKE SO MANY OTHER U.S CITIZENS THAT THINK THE GREAT U.S. WOULD NEVER DO THESE KIND OF THINGS…..THEY HAVE…AND ARE ALREADY DOING SO AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. I AM A REALIST AND SAD TO SAY WE ALL ARE WILLING TO LET BIG BROTHER TOTALLY CONTROL ALL PARTS OF OUR LIVES…

I want out so badly I can not stand it…but with my divorse I a traped in the U.S maybe forever…the U.S has made itself doomed. I see no possible outlet..our choices for president are no choice. both continue or bring new disaster. I am waiting until I reach 62..and then even thought it will be very minimal income..2 years I can escape this country which is doomed to self distruction…I would come now …in and out for 90 days but do not want to chance getting caught and be banned for 10 years….best of to all of us traped in the U.S.

vbcruiser, I am a long time member of this site…and you probably see me making coments from time to time. I dearly want to be in Costa Rica. I am reciently divorc sed…she got the gold mine ( well over a Million dollars/ and I got the shaft. I know Scott O. personally and would offer my 30 years of perfect business in the real estate business in Austin and San Antonio,
Texas will all necessary documations for my creditability.. I have spent the money frm my divorce to buy investment properties and do not have the necessary cash to “buy” my way into the country. I am 59 to be 60 in July…I will have more than enough income from social security and my income from rental properties to live in C.R. in 2 years. But for now I would offer my assistance to be an on site person for your building and a tenant to guard your home until you can get to C.R. I know this is a bold move but I am not happy in the U.S. it is 99 degrees in San Antonio today with a heat index of 104 and summer is not yet here. Please let me know. I can give you excellent credentials. I have been on the Board of Directors for the Austin Board of Directors, an owner of a top Century 21 office in the country and a City Councilman in Universal City Texas
    thanks so much

Hi there, My brother claims that the U.S is the greatest place on the earth…I say it is rapidly becoming the worst….well not maybe the worst but a very very sick and diplorable place to live. We are in a self distruct mode and the comment that the people are totally oblivious to how bad it is must be recorded as so accurate. We “Love” being Americans but most are so blinded by this love that we can not see how absolutely crazy and left we have gone. We have inprisoned ourselves. We are sick and stupid people and as the rest of the world has marked accuratly called us arrogant.sp. sorry.
