I have lurked on this thread for a long time; just shaking my head at some of the comments and wondering why the admin just doesn’t kill the discussion.

Comments like the one above just proves that idiots abound online 😯

I have followed your posts on your own blog and also read your book. I laughed a lot. I commend you for posting your responses to the feedback from CNN article.
My wife and I wish that we could just drop everything and move NOW. Oh we will move and live to CR but in a few years; until then we visit as much as we can and enjoy every single moment of our lives regardless of where we are.
My unsolicited advice (I don’t think you need any) is just do you and be you.
I plan on living life to the fullest and dying empty. That statement may see to be a paradox. To me dying empty means not taking my dreams; passion; ideas and love with me to the grave. It does not mean irresponsible spending or not planning for the future. It does not mean sacrificing people, relationships and living in the now in hopes of some distance future where I can enjoy life. It means receiving and giving unconditionally until you are empty.

Nadine; my fondest wish for you is that you die empty.

My wife and I will soon move to CR and will certainly distance myself from any Gringo (right, left or middle) who can and will freak out on an online forum . I wonder how they will react in a face to face conversation. You do you and I will do me 😆

Just saying that Disabled Vet should check his COLA facts

Due to the continuing recession and subsequent reduction in the cost-of-living for many areas, the 2011 COLA rates have dropped with the exception of New York, Staten Island, and locations in Illinois and Massachusetts.
Ahh..Obama, he started by cutting our VA disability compensation COLA for two years, Social Security COLA for two years; 😯 ……. I truely thought there would be a mass demonstration or quasi-revolution, when Obama froze veterans disability COLA for two years.:shock:
I 100% agree. The article was an example of fear mongering.

I am more than just hoping; I am insisting (don’t know how I can enforce it) that they keep to their updated schedule of March 2012 😕

I was hopeful that more informed owners from the other CD properties would have commented but since they didn’t I will have to give it a try.
Please note that I am a lot owner at Reserva and I am only reporting on what I have gleaned from the postings from others on the various forum.
First Dad; I hear you and I understand your frustration and anger. We have all to varying degrees wanted to kick some CD butt. But your experience is not a typical one. And I dare say that it’s the kind of experience that one can have in the States with a developer in an under developed area. That doesn’t excuse CD but I give them credit for still being in business given the current economic conditions.
The owners at Esterillos have fired the central pacific coast properties and hired Nova Group. Nova provided a budget and together with the condominium board of directors is working with CD to resolve outstanding infrastructure issues.
The problems you stated provides us all with an opportunity to learn

The members of “Costa Developers Owners Forum” @ http://208.115.49.244/fluxbb/viewtopic.php?id=66 are following this thread with keen interest and I have encouraged them to subscribe to ‘WeLoveCostaRica.com” and participate to correct the negative image that has been portrayed of CD

BTW
I always suspect someone intentions who registered on the forum and their first post is a negative one. I not saying their intentions are necessarily bad. Just that I go ‘hummmm”

So, tell us. How did your visit turn out?
It was a whirlwind tour. We visited the area for approx 48 hours and were quite impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of Gil (Manager) and his family.

Most of the lots are already sold and a few homes are in various stages of construction. They certainly do have some work to do on the access road but for the most part we could see the potential for the development and in the area.

We are looking for a community rather than an investment and we hope that Grand View Estates will meet our needs
