Long term care is very different here. One may hire someone, not necessarily a nurse, to help you in your home. Hiring a nurse would increase the cost, quite dramatically.
Actual facilities are ‘few are far’ between.
If you have an existing medical problem, you should travel here and see what is available, first.

This one was being fed antibiotics, and going through ‘rehab’ after falling out of a tree on the road leading to our coffee farm.

Unless it has hold on a dowel or branch at all times, it will break a finger, even a young sloth.

Years ago we were robbed here, and our SKY TV box was taken (mistakenly we presume, for a DVD player), plus camera equipment and other items. After returning from the police station where we had to complete the necessary paperwork, a neighbor stopped us and said that the ‘culprit’ his nephew who was visiting, would return the items. Lo and behold, he actually did return everything directly to the police station the following day.
If only the other thieves that have taken ‘goods’ from us, were so thoughtful…

Dare I say ‘good news’!
I won’t tell you, that now it could take a year to get an actual cedula…like ours did. Or at least my hubbys. I have to go back, again, in another 20 days….

Contact Ryan Piercy at ARCR who manages this office. But even a ‘good lawyer’ can’t guarantee a quick transfer over to ‘Permanent residency’ as a few of us who have responded to this post, can attest.

janetl, although you are indeed ‘ eligible for permanent residency after 3 years’, it could still take another year or more to get.

I read an article recently that reported Monsantos would appeal results.

Another article that some may have already, read 🙄

I have ‘PM’ed’ maravilla in the past about a property that uses RoundUp extensively.

Where and what would one ask for to get tested here, for exposure for RoundUp?

I previously posted “Our friend there told us that residents in the Aguacate area ‘donated funds’, so there would be at least a defibrillator in the area. If I remember correctly, I was told, that the clinic in the near vicinity only operates for one day a week so one has to be prepared to travel.
Tilaran, is the center of government, commerce, and medical/dental services for the whole Arenal region.”
In other words, there isn’t much available, in the immediate area.

Our dogs presently have ticks and botflies, and have had medicines, powders, shots….
Luckily, we have just had the ticks!

Friends brought in a ‘Mule’, and which is similar to your vehicle, isn’t it? They were never able to license it either, so they go into the small town near them, and so far, have had no tickets…although it doesn’t have a ‘VE’ plate.

Unfortunately, it is not wise to to pretend that there isn’t ladrones around us, possibly including some of the nice neighbors and ‘sweep it under the carpet’. That would be foolish.
