YES I remember the DC3 (Dack) with its’ “flapping” wings , air conditioned floor and it’s groans and weird noises as it “cut” through the skies. While in the army it was used extensively throughout Europe and middle east. Put on a few air miles, a great plane though.
Once again Thanks for the memories.

Once again Mr. Murray you missed my point, I was not trying to change Mr. Scott’s mind or opinion or anything else. I was questioning his throwing every government employee into the same basket, However you take it which ever way you want obviously. And make NO mistake about it I am Not in your camp only this time I happend to agree with you but again I doubt if that will ever occurr again. Were this primary directive of non agression comes from I don’t know. Did you really I mean really READ what I wrote????? He can keep his opinion I was just questioning his lumping everyone to-gether as government employees in the field of protection not caring. That’s all

    Wow Mr. Oliver
I have to be in Mr. David C. Murray’s camp on this one. Mr. Oliver you always seem to bring up and tout the fact that you were a Royal Marine Commando with the British Special Forces. Do you include yourself in your thoughts about paid government employees? So you were in the R.M.C. for what? If not to protect the safety of others, or were you just there for??? It is really very unprofessional of you to paint everybody with that brush of disdain. If that is the case stop bragging about the R.M.C. because of your own definition you were not there to protect others. I myself am a retired Intelligence officer and, Mr. Oliver I take umbridge with your analysis of ALL government employees. I have much more I would like to say but I will end this with: HOW in all conscience can you say those things when so many first reponders and military loose their lives helping others on a daily basis? HOW?? Wow as I was thinking about this “imxploring”,kwhite1,and DAVIDD got in ahead of me, now don’t you all gang up on me at once. However many times we stopped serious crimes from occurring,no press,. I am not advocating that you should not and can not protect your own family, but do not loose perspective of men and women who do the JOB because of committment to duty and to mankind. You all want to find fault in that, help yourselves.

I agree with you stephanie ande, there seems to be a couple that that know everything about everything. One guy in particular and he makes it seem that your opinion just doesn’t count even thought he has never experienced it. I know I should mention his name but I think most people know to whom I am referring.

Ah,Mr Murray don’t believe everything you seen in the Michael Moore propaganda film (not that you do) Our system has up to a 12 month waiting period just to see a specialist.

A family member had to wait 8 months for a colonoscopy(sp), and I had to wait 7 months to see a throat specialist and a friend of mine who is passing blood (may be too much info) has to wait one month to see a specialist.

We have people sleeping in hospital hallways because there is not enough room. A few years ago the government closed down several hospitals, due to costs, which caused overcrowding.

In our emerg waiting rooms there can be up to a 12 hour waiting period,(busy) approximately 2 1/2 years ago we moved from one city to another and for over 2 years we had to travel 4 hours return to see our doctor because doctors were we moved to ,were not taking on new patients finally one of the doctors opened up his practice to new patients.

Also we had to register with our government to let them know that we moved and looking for a new doctor and then they had to approve our registration with the new doctor.

Now our great system does not pay for all the coverage therefore I have private coverage which I pay $285 a month for. The private covers extended hospital care, dental care, vision care and drugs not covered by the government system.

Also we pay the government $100 a year up front so that we can get our prescriptions filled (not much but) also we have to pay the pharmacist a dispensing fee for the drugs each time (not much but).

We winter in Florida (until our house is Costa Rica is built) and this past Feb. I got sick and went into one of the hospitals. Within 25 min. I was in an exam room and for the next 3 hours had numerous tests done and the results, all that would have taken me up to six months here to do with all the test, results, etc.

Also I noticed at the hospitals in Florida you don’t pay for parking here we pay through the nose for parking (a small thing but the system needs money)

Mr. Murray you say that we have an option to travel to another country to get things done. Well if our system is so great why should I and why would I travel to another country?

Is that not the reason we are paying such a high tax rate?

By the way you do have a point, people who can afford and have the time do travel to Buffalo for treatment, ask any hospital in the Buffalo area ( I mention Buffalo because it is close )

But again why on earth should they have to, everyone thinks we have such a great system. (Government run duh) Your (I know maybe not yours now because you are in C.R. but you know what I mean) Obamacare is going to cost you a lot of money and the only way is to RAISE EVERYONE’S TAXES , not just the so called rich.

Incidentally as you probably know Obama and other “leaders”,UNIONS,and other select few, how they become select is anyone’s guess, have received exemptions from the system, ever wonder WHY.

Even our politicians go to private clinics which are legal in Quebec. You mention Tico Times about the ultrasound wait period (Is that not a government run system) and they have a delay.

I have heard and read nothing but good about the C.R. system. Also I don’t believe that a person in need of medical attention would be turned away at any hospital in your great country.

The American people have bigger hearts and more kindness that to turn anyone away that needs help. I love your country and have many good friends there, I would never belittle or trash your land or people. But people seem to forget if you did not have the military might that you do (you mentioned military) you and I would not be free to do what we are doing now.

Don’t forget the brave souls that put themselves out there (to-day and years gone by) so that the terrorists (of today and of years past) do not get a foot hold in the U.S.A. because if they could they certainly would.

This is not an attack on you Mr. Murray but I just thought that maybe you should have a few facts on OUR system. Now nothing is perfect in this world, however, put anything in the hands of the government, well look around.

Having experience with both systems I do prefer yours. How is your cat?

I have never ever posted before this. If you think that you have high taxes take a look at us in Canada. We in Ontario pay an extra 13% H.S.T. on every day purchases such as necessities plus when I was working my income tax was as high as 45% and that was making approximately $65,000 to $70,000 a year and if I managed to get overtime the 45% would be higher. At this time we work for the government until mid June to the beginning of July, then we get the money in our hands. That is, up to June and July it all goes to taxes. Now that is what a gimme gimme society does. (socialism)
