Bill,
What a sweet deal you are getting!
If you are planning on a 4S jailbreak, most important, DO NOT update that phones software as the jailbreak for that upgrade is likely not yet available.
Secondly, the instructions and software for doing it your self are available on the internet but, that said, I still would look for a good cell phone repair shop. They likely offer the service. I paid about $23 US to have mine done here is Salt Lake and it worked like a charm. Just went to the Kolbi store and paid $5 for a new SIM card and got 200 minutes, unlimited texting, and, of course wireless data.
If your iPhone has not had it’s software upgraded, there is also now available an inexpensive chip that slides over the one already in your phone and fools the phone into thinking it’s been jailbroken.
Good luck with that.

Well said, Maravilla! Being un/mis-informed is exactly how corrupt politicians continue to get relelected. . .too many people just wrongly assume that our elected officials will do the right thing. . .

But. . .taken back far enough, the Mortgage Crisis actually started with Jimmy Carter. That’s when the feds first stepped in and began backing mortgages.

Then Reagan did his part by signing off on more deregulation while cooperating with a Liberal House.

As I said before, it was Bill Clinton, also working with a Liberal dominated house, along with Criss Dodd and Barney Frank’s committee, that deregulated the Community Reinvestment Act in 1995, and that really started a blowup in the mortgage crisis.

This pressured lenders to give home loans to unqualified people, under the name of “Affordable Housing” or else get a visit from the ACLU and Federal authorites.

All politicians are complicit and allowed the greed to happen under their laws and watch. Then they actually perpetuated the greed by providing a Bonus payment of $800 Billion. I say the Feds were dealing drug money. . .no wonder the banks got addicted. . .

So why are we persecuting the user instead of the seller?

Yes, the current worldwide protests are misdirected. . . Until we start taking away the “Drug” Money from the United States Congress, have international protests, including Icelanders, focused in Congresses backyards, they will continue to hatch more absurd regulations to further skew us from a competitive, free market system and drag the world down with us.

Thanks, Scott, for allowing this unrelated Tika discussion to unfold. Perhaps, these smaller, discussion forums will pave the way for amiably finding resolution to our political polarization. . .something that has not occured with our politically constipated Congress.

Now, on with the topic at hand. . .
The prevailing view does seem to be that the bankers have raped the world. My contention is that the Federal Government raped the world by writing the rules for the raping; starting with legislation promoted by Clinton/Reno/Dodd and Frank who required the banks to lend money to the unemployed and with no down payment. Yup, there’s those inept, dabbling politicians again! They then took credit for the booming housing market, rode the artificial wave of home appreciation. and they never got smarter through several administrations.

The banks reaction, when everything imploded, was to not get stuck with The Old Maid card and they tried to pass it off. When they got caught, the Feds had to launch another brainless $800 Billion program to use our money to pay off SOME of the banks to KEEP the Old Maid Card along with another brainless program called Keeping Homes Affordable to keep those in their homes that still hadn’t made a payment and were without jobs or down payments.

The Federal Reserve, Dodd and Frank were sitting at the card table all along and still haven’t admitted that this wasn’t Old Maid but All-In High Stakes Poker.

This March on Wall Street is politically motivated, misdirected madness with Unions taking up the cause. We know the source of the problem. Nothing will change until they start marching in DC with a group that has their sights on The the Federal Government as being The Problem: That is the only way you will see some inept politicians evicted and greedy Bankers prosecuted.

the above posts diagram the hope and unfortunately the reality.
there is no middle ground here.
history will repeat itself, as it has again and again..
Actually I think the middle ground exists in realizing that those we are electing to congress are failing us badly. It isn’t a matter of left or right, it’s all of them.

The right refuses to raise taxes and the left objects to budget cuts when the vast majority of Americans realize that both have to be done.

We are electing economic and historical illiterates who have no ability to view the future consequences of their actions.
As a conservative leaner, I obviously agree with everything you have to say, Waggoner, including the thought that the Liberal’s solution is raising taxes. I appreciate that you just stated the facts, thus avoiding any contention.
But I just can’t let that Liberal position hang out there. History has established that the Feds demand for more dollars is insatiable. Whatever they ask for, we give them and then they proceed to spend 40% more. As you suggest, with their investments, they have abandoned every financial principle known to man. Do Liberals really trust the Feds will do the right thing if you give them more money? I say treat the “economic and historical Illiterates” like a homebound teenager. When they ask for a handout. Make them live within their means. . .until they show some good judgement.
