MemberI think the only place in Costa Rica you will get that “water” is on the Carribean side. I just don’t know of any places to stay there that are say similar to Si Como No, Villa Caletas or xandari. I just love C.R. and happen to surf, I have not seen many people on the beaches in C.R. the way you do in Hawaii or Cancun though. I think if you take your lady to C.R. start at http://www.xandari.com spend a few nights in one of there villas overlooking Alejuela, do some yoga and get some body treatments and tour the central valley towns. Then head to the pacific and stay at either Xandaris new hotel in Esterillo or Villa Caletas then head to Manuel Antonio tour the beautiful park and explore the secluded beaches. Two nice places to stay are Si Como No or Makanda by the sea. This beats old Cancun anytime! My girlfriend loved Aruba, Carribean etc…untill I took her to C.R. now shes even surfing! Boy I sound like a travel agent lol.

MemberIt seems there trading group is one of many not registered to conduct business in Costa Rica. I’m sure some one else will give you a clearer idea though.
ps.
You are not going to find many fans of “Columbus Heights” on this forum. But I was one of the first to purchase and there was a firestorm on this site regarding them..lol! Fear not, in my humble opinion all is well with the development, I can not speak of there other interests. My friend just returned and saw quite a bit of progress as they have started cutting the roads etc…I have an appointment to close on my lot december 8 at Fasio law in Escazu. I hope you have been there and seen the property as it is very beautiful I have spent quite a bit of time in Playa Hermosa over the last 4 or 5 years and will be there most of December. Good Luck!*Lotus
MemberBoy Tutis one bad experience and you fled the country? I mean there are many reasons not to move to costa rica but one isolated incedent, what happens if you get robbed in Spain to you leave for Sweden and warn everyone about Spain? I don’t mean to sound rude but this is silly…

MemberScott you got me on this, a good friend just came back and stayed at Villa Calletas and told me the beach was’nt that great and we have traveled a bit together so I took her word on this. Am I wrong? I believe they have a shuttle to there own beach? I must say I love the rest of it, can’t beat the sunsets and a mango martini!

MemberThere is a little place right on the ocean just south of Jaco, about 1/2 km. I just can not remember the name but it looks pretty nice and the location is Jaco without being in Jaco.

MemberVilla Calletas is amazing and very romantic although there beach is not all that great. Xandari just opened up in Esterillos and has small private villas on the beach, http://www.xandari.com

MemberYes I agree about the 4×4 we will pass on that, nice to have but not worth the expense if you’re not going to be fording any rios! I certainly did appreciate the 4×4 when we were in Nosara, came in handy when we took the “back road” up to Ocojtal and down to Mal Pais via the coastal route.

MemberThanks for that info as I have not rented from them before. I have had good luck with Dollar though.

MemberThanks for all the input! I have rented a few cars in CR and am never really sure which way to go. I will call them to see if that rate includes the mandatory insurance, I could not determine this from there site. I have rolled the dice a few times and used my credit card for the additional coverage and grilled visa on the phone and read the policy info they sent me. The worrisome part is if you total the car etc…the rental company charges(or trys) your card for the damages and then you must file your claim with visa and provide all the necessary proof, does’nt sound like fun. Morgan what post did you want to hear from me about?
