The rest of the world is not our puppet anymore, rather we are the dog being wagged by the tail. China, Japan and Britain own our national debt. It scares the powers that be they are losing grip, so they are being more regional in focus. Look at all the permanent bases we have given up in Europe and Asia. Hawaii is our westernmost major military complex; Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean is minor in comparison. The excuse is the ridiculously wasteful in terms of value for the money “war on drugs” promoted by Bush 1 and exacerbated by the current admin., but the real goal is to dollarize, indenture through debt, perceived dependence on protection and the Treasury Department’s massive foreign asset fishing expedition. It is ironic how states are starting to band together and pass marijuana laws, just like during the onset of prohibition. The states are realizing the huge tax benefit + a reduction in department of corrections and police costs. In our state of 6 million, which happens to be the home of the current Drug Czar, that works out to a combined add to the budget of $1 billion, which fixes our budget hole for the next 2 years.

The amounts would be 75% of $270 & $135 respectively according to what I have read, which is $101.25 for sociedad anonima inactiva.

Never notice any Subaru’s as well, which is now the #1 line. The Korean cars (Hyundai actually owns Kia) have risen dramatically in quality. The best off-road, dependable rig I ever owned was a Toyota truck with a 22R motor. Rovers are suspect for dependability and gas hogs. The Kia Sportage / Hyundai Tucson here runs about $21,000, Sorrento / Santa Fe $30,000. The 3.0 diesel VW Toureg is an awesome off road, luxury vehicle, but $60,000 here.

Scott is right. The lawyers in the small towns, just as doctors and dentists, are there for a reason: they are second rate at best.

It is because of FACTA, which is part of the Patriot Act. Financial institutions must report on US bank account holders or 30% of any payments from a US institution will be withheld. Many banks have just chosen not to accept any US accounts rather than be subjected to the reporting requirements of the IRS. This is all done under the false mask of anti-terrorism and drug money laundering, but it is really an assault on our freedoms, an attack on purported “tax havens” and total hypocrisy on the part of the US government who promote foreign investment, but at the same time is handcuffing US citizens.

The foreign banks are being extorted to release names of US citizens or S.A.’s with US citizen sharholders. Let’s not forget that there is a passport # in the originatinmg juridica paperwork. If the banks do not comply, then 30% of any funds originating from the US banking system to their bank must be withheld until they comply. Most banks will just start not accepting US customers rather than comply (2/3’s in one of the think tank polls). This really makes you a pariah of sorts if you are American, doean’t it? Even though we spout free trade and investment in underdeveloped nations out of one side of our mouth. How can you have both?
