Memberi fear that the IMF and the World Bank will put the screws to costa rica by calling the loans if they don´t agree to the TLC. the truly evil forces in our world today are those two entities i just mentioned. just look what they did in Argentina, Ecuador, panama, indonesia, etc. to think that we will be occupying irag for another 5 – 6 years turns my stomach, but then halliburton and all those other ghouls will be raking in the dough while we make sure we get that central asia pipeline in place. i am soooooo happy to be away from america right now. costa rica has its problems, but this recent strike makes me realize that people hear still have cajones to stand up for what they believe in.

Membermy primary reason for bailing out of the US is that I will not be part of or support the slaughter we are perpetrating in iraq. this was an illegal war, promulgaled on lies andd eceit and greed, and there is no justification for having invaded iraq. in fact, this whole war machine is just too creepy to even think about it. i´m in costa rica now and i´m staying away from the news-propaganda and applaud the ticos for going on strike to protest the TLC and the spread of globalism, which benefits only the big multinationals.

MemberI was fibbing about the oil part.

MemberREAD MY LIPS: IRAQ HAD NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH 9-11. NOTHING. NOT EVEN ONE GRAIN OF SAND NOR ONE DROP OF OIL!

MemberJenny, you should run for President. Your ideals are much better than the war mongers running things now. I’d vote for YOU before I’d vote for any of them.

MemberRemember the burning of the Reichstag???? I think 9-11 was just another stunt to implement fascist ideals.

MemberJenny — good to see you posting again because you are always the voice of reason! You go, girl!

Memberyeah, night and day! I wasn’t planning on it, especially when I had my mind set on gardening and orchid growing as my next career, but I’m incapable of turning down work that involves my creativity. Did you see the Wing Lung Bank mural we did? It’s on the home page — 4500 sq ft of 3/4″ tiles — 998,000 to be exact. You can imagine what my house in Costa Rica is going to look like – we did Monet’s Water Lillies for the master bath, and we’re covering our massive fireplace in mosaic as well. We’re hoping to set up shop in CR and open a Latin American Division of the main company, which my husband and I will oversee.

MemberThe fireplace mural hasn’t been posted yet, but you can see what we did for Wells Fargo – http://www.becomingtile.com/WellsFargo — I fabricated this and we did another just this week, which my husband installed at the site in California. We have 35 more to do, some as large as 600 sq ft. And I thought I was moving to Costa Rica to retire. HA!

MemberI was disappointed that they didn’t have a tight close-up of my work, but they did post photos of the fireplace on the ABC.com ExtremeMakeover-Home Edition webpage. The fireplace is #53 in their photo album for this week’s show about the Bliven family. Don’t think there will be a repeat as the season just started, but the HUGE mural I did for a bathroom will be shown on the November 5th show, but I’ll miss that because I’ll be in Costa Rica. You could probably see a picture of the fireplace on the http://www.becomingtile.com website. It should’ve been posted by now. Sheesh. And I thought I was going to get another 15 seconds of fame!

MemberI re-read 1984 just a few months before I decided it was time to get the hell out of this insane asylum without walls. Everything he wrote was just too close to home and too timely. And when you’ve finished Orwell’s tome, re-read Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, but even more frightening than that is his redux Brave New World Revisited. If you haven’t already left, you will be packing your bags and trying to get residency. jejeje

MemberAnd that’s what so dangerous about the whole situation with Christians and Muslims, or any sect trying to convince another that theirs is the one true thing, all of which I find incredibly stupid and hard to believe in the first place. We are engaging in a crusade-like war here, but the difference is that the Muslims are happy to die for Allah, after all they get those 72 houris or vestal virgins or whatever lure they believe in, when they die in the name of their religion. Who can compete with THAT??? Does anyone know what female suicide bombers get when they blow themselves up? (this is not a joke, I’m wondering if there is a 72-virgin equivalent for women!?)
maravilla
MemberI couldn’t agree with you more, especially since both groups think the other group should be decimated in the name of their religion.

MemberThe campo here I come for all the reasons you mentioned. Already I live away from a big city for those same reasons. I don’t even want to know what those nefarious, evil doers might have in mind to keep us radical, critical thinkers in line. jejeje
