MemberThe panels can me made to order so to speak, and fitted into your “super structure”. This is not a pre fab house your architect is talking about, just panels to make up the walls.

MemberGetting angry, frustrated won’t help you get through security but will harm your health/state of mind(don’t let them also take that from you!). But I like the breathing advice. I will be down there in a few days and will try and keep a pura vida state of mind as I wind through security.

Member“There site has had no updates in over a month, any info on the progress. There web site said they would have units available to be rented out December 2006.”
I don’t mean to sound rude, but perhaps you should re read my question, hence you will understand why I posted it here in the first place…pretty simple? I don’t live in C.R. but have some real estate interests there and this site is a great way to stay connected and get up dates on whats happening. I will be there most of December and look forward to seeing the progress of many current projects. Based on prices in the area I thought the Gardens was looking good. However upon reading this post and going back over there website I see this is a project for those looking for rental income and will limit your use and control of your unit. I was aware of them marketing this for investors seeking management, income etc…but thought that was up to the unit owners, so the fees and rules don’t work for me. I sincerely wish them success as any project that fails hurts everybody.

MemberI just asked a simple question, perhaps you should address the person who responded.

MemberI think it is more complex than that, prices are high on imported items because of the tax that is imposed by the government on imports. By a locally made product and prices are “cheap”, imported equals expensive. I found this out the hard way when I bought a small wheel of Brie. After getting home I realized I payed about $13 dollars for something that would have cost me $4.99 here in NYC. $15 dollars a day sounds horrible to us, but this is $300 per month and that is about an average wage for a working class Tico, is it not? So I don’t think Walmart is gouging it’s just the nature of the beast, if anything the complaint against these big box stores is they under cut everyone else because of there buying power and want of market domination. I’m 43 years old and think i’ve been in one of these box stores 3 times, with the exception of Target which I go to about once a year. But I could easily do with out that. I’m sure these places come in handy though down in C.R.

MemberI don’t know much about there trading operation or there legal problems regarding doing business there. But it is on a high floor in a very affluent office tower in San Jose. To tell you the truth it is quite impressive and not what you imagine when you use the term “Boiler” room. When they started selling land there was a firestorm of critisism regarding them, and speculation they would never build more than a gate…I am glad to say these earlier reports were wrong and they seem to be on track to build out and complete a very impressive developement in a stunning part of Costa Rica.

MemberI actually know Danny Yepez the sales director there and although the approach may be “hard sell” he has always been very upfront with me. As you can see from the site they are in phase 4 and lots start at approx. $60k for 5000m2. In Phase 1 they were $30,000( I know because I bought one). I had a friend who was looking and Danny called him to let him know prices were going up as a phase was ending. He like you assumed it was hard sell b.s., and did not pull the trigger. He continued to look around the Jaco area and found you could not purchase 5000m2 in a gated community 1 mile from the beach for $30k and called Danny back…to late. My friend is a New Yorker and and hard bargainer… he paid the next phase increased price. You can not always assume all these projects are being misrepresented, I spoke with a lot of people before sending off that money as well as walked the property and know the area very well. I can not speak for there trading activities past or future, and although I was not thrilled about some of what I discovered I stuck with the deal. And am happy to report that I have an appointment to close at the law offices of Fasio on December 8. Also they have started building out the infrastructure and since starting about a month ago have got quite a bit done and are now on track to complete this work by March 2007. This has just been my experience, I am not looking to start another Paragon thread and will not participate in any forum fights over the ethical/moral fiber of any of the principles at Wellington. I was only interested in there ability and willingness to complete this project according to the terms of the contract I signed.

MemberGt,
I’m like you the Mosquitos stay away, but for many it is a real problem. My girlfriend gets eaten alive and netting is required when sleeping in the jungle or at the beach.
