Scott, Dan, Maravilla (Trisha) – thank you all for all of your help. Soctt, I have read hundreds of your articles – all exceptional, Dan, I really appreciate your input and did look at the website which I had seen before, and Maravilla I will definitely look at trip advisor.

I am looking to rent something when I first arrive with a pool maybe through XMAS just to be settled for awhile around the holidays – I love the cooler weather and did love the Puriscal area – but then I generally love whereever I am, I have lived in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, HI and most of the US so I can get around quiet well. I have a darling cat – Mimi that is dear to me and a friend will come with me for the first three weeks. Any info any of you have on where to look or whatever is truly helpful and I appreciate it greatly.

Blessings always, feel free to write to me at my email.

Hi Scott, of course I am already familiar with your info which is super; however, after exhausting those – I started looking on Craigs list for more rentals and car or driver information. I hope to arrive permanently in November – just trying to
tie it all up. Thanks and Blessings, Pj

    Hi All,

Interesting subject, interesting reading – be careful about stretching the article out so far, interests weakens. It is obvious that several writers were involved in getting the article out which is fine – but; be sure to explain some of the local phrases for full impact and understanding by the readers. Does this type of “manipulation” only involve the local women or do the men do the same with the foreign women coming to CR?

Best of luck to you Terrence – hope all goes better for you.

TY Maravilla for your comments. I have checked nearly all sources on the earthquake issues and the fault lines, etc. The data that I have collected still hasn’t been specific enough (like collecting data on past quakes and site specific areas). Where did you say you lives exactly? How long have you been in CR? Thanks again

I’ve been to CR and many other places in the world working and just sightseeing. I even found a property I wanted to buy when I was there. I met many new friends and even took George Lunquist’s and others tours and traveled the country side with a driver for a month or so. The weather, the people, the health care and varying climates attract me. As a single women, I’ve especially spent time checking out where I might feel comfortable. So – why aren’t I there? My “concerns” really boil down to one that I can’t really get good answers or data on and that is – earthquakes and if there is any safe area there. Especially after seeing Haiti’s unfortunate situations and being in other third world countries myself – that is a real “concern” or “fear”. When I lived in Japan – the earthquake and tremors were mild but frequent and the feelings of uncertainty were horrible. I really like the micro climates, the people, the landscaping mountains, valleys, oceans, rivers, streams, waterfalls, wildlife and the food especially.
Until I can get enough concrete information regarding “safe” areas to live (concerning the earthquakes) I am not comfortable proceeding. You would think it would be easy to obtain this information; to date it has not been.
