    One important thing you will need to be present in Costa Rica to open the bank account.
    The State banks your deposits are insured by the Costa Rica Govt.
    Your funds will not be insured by the private banks.

    The first thing you should do is a complete title search on the property.
    If you buy vacant land that is not in a gated community you should hire a full time guard.
    Condos and homes in a gated project should be ok by itself.

    You do not need to be a resident in Costa Rica to receive medical care from a privite hospital.
    With a prescription from the States you could fill most requests
    I would recommend either Hospital Cima/Biblica in San Jose.
    Residency could take anywhere from 6-12 months.

    If the contract is in Spanish 100% Yes. Even if it’s in English Costa Rica laws may be diffent from your home country.
