By the time you have paid duty, transport, fumigation, broker fees, storage for approx 3 days, the cost will already be ‘up there’ so when you add in ‘profit….’
Remember, too, that there will be no warranty when you import a car.
We have imported a vehicle and also machinery.

Lots of unhappy ‘temporary residents’, Pensionado and Rentistas, out here, right now, since they cannot buy a gun for the protection of their families.
And their opinion…it sucks!

Well, I grilled our friend and he has no regrets about purchasing one, 5 years ago. He hasn’t needed to take it for any repairs, and the brakes are original. He doesn’t use it all the time, but felt it has held it’s value by what he has seen on ‘Craig’s list’.
He thinks the price will be nearer to $25,000.

I was ‘gifted’ a metal detector a few months ago by a friend…. although still haven’t done anything with it, but maybe one day I will venture out with it….

Most reports of the lawyers under contract at ARCR that I have heard, have been good.
If they don’t perform, their ‘services are no longer required’.

No, I meant the double cab! There was very little leg room in the back, and I do have short legs. I know there was some things, which is too be expected that our friend didn’t like, but I can’t remember what they were….
As I said, I will ask him tomorrow.
He lives where the roads are just about non-existent and definitely some of the worst roads we have ever been on.
We don’t visit him much…. …unless we are on the ATV.

A friend has one and I will check with him tomorrow, when we take him to the airport.
Not much space in the back, as I have squeezed in there, and I am small….

So, in fact if you go the investor route, it could be more expensive for you, since it still require the $150,0000 just for your spouse. And you will possibly incur two ‘bills for services rendered’ and your investor application may be for naught, so you may have to start, again, from scratch and your paperwork needs to be dated within the 6 months timeline with immigration.
Here is a quote from the Costa Rica Law website.

’There is currently misinformation floating around regaring the inversionista category. Part of it came about when the Director of Immigration mentioned in a press interview that the inversionista category would apply to those that purchased their homes or property in Costa Rica. That statement was later modified but the uncretaintity remains. Since the law is silent as to the requirements of this category it will be up to the Department of Immigration either by way of Regulations to the law or by way of another Circular to clarify in writing what their position is as to this category under the new law. As soon as we have a verified source indicaring the parameters of this category we will post them to the site.’

When we arrived here, over 10 years ago, only straight back or very upright furniture was available and N&M’s, in San Pedro was the only place you could find many hardware items, so really all you who have come since them, have it easy … 😆
