ParticipantObviously, having the guard house near will offer protection, over night, but robberies are often done during daylight hours…
Keep safe.costaricafinca
ParticipantThe problems is that the ladrones could be from out of your area, and not know that ‘you have nothing worth stealing’ but think you may have your ‘valuables’ hidden…

ParticipantAgain, ‘ours’ came prepared with poisoned food…
The 2nd. attempt, the alarms sounded, and they fled since we were the neighbors house. We wouldn’t have usually set them, just to walk a short distance, but our worker had noticed some unusual ‘signs’ so when we went to a renewal of vows, at a wedding anniversary at a specified time, the ladrones were waiting. The dogs came with us.
The 3rd time….well, we won’t go into that….costaricafinca
ParticipantGood neighbors are fine… if you have neighbors living within a reasonable distance!

ParticipantIt is easy to be against something when it hasn’t touched you, in that your home hasn’t been ‘raided’ and your pets killed.

ParticipantYou must go to a Riteve facility. If your vehicle meets all their specifications, they will issue you paperwork saying that the inspection was done and now you can apply for the plates and the insurance. Then, you return with these, to Riteve and they will issue you the Marchamo

ParticipantI agree with the above poster in that it will be hard to sell an unfurnished condo in Playa del Coco. In fact, it is hard to sell a furnished condo, right now.
While getting furniture made locally may be the way to go, I suggest you head to Alyss and purchase furniture & accessories plus whatever else you need. Making the furniture will take time, so if you need to start renting it ASAP, this may be the deciding factor.costaricafinca
ParticipantA legal working person here working as nurse receives a salary of approx. $750 per month.
You need to do some research in the requirements of living/working in Costa Rica.
And of course, you would also need to sit your exams again and be fluent in Spanish.costaricafinca
ParticipantIt is the same going in the other direction up to Playas del Coco, Hermosa, Panama, etc. In Coco, many closed stores, all boarded up.
Too many places vying for too few investors and/or tourists.
I thought it looked awful, when I saw so many billboards being errected near the Liberia airport but now, possibly only 1 in 5 billboards are actually advertising a business, the rest are empty.costaricafinca
ParticipantHope it continues this way, but personally I would wait until the job is totally complete before celebrating the outcome …
Sorry, but been …done that.costaricafinca
ParticipantAfter posting my response, I was thinking that if you have some ripe fruit, try to get them some fruit flies….
Actually ‘real hummer nuts’ say not to use nectar mix, but use a 4-1 mix of water and sugar, but since they’re young and need more nourishment, try making a mix of 3 parts water-1 part sugar. Boil the water, then add the sugar.
I don’t use feeders, but this is what is reported on the Hummingbird site that I frequent, costaricafinca
ParticipantI am a ‘hummer nut’ and here is a link to Connie Sale, Contact info via email at humnchirp@verizon.net, who operates out of the USA and attends to many hummers
But cooked egg white?
No,I never read much information regarding conditions there, so good luck and sorry to hear that a lot of damage was done, sorrycostaricafinca
ParticipantI just wrote a similar post…although not so eloquently…then changed my mind about posting it.
Unless, you have money to tie up waiting for a buyer, I would advise you to rethink this idea.
Now, if you are were to offer warranty, this may be a different. But, then again, you will not know the real history, either….costaricafinca
ParticipantArmy or not, one should be able to protect ones family, if they so choose and they abide by the rules of owning a weapon.
If classes and a license are required, so be it.
We got ours, legally, before they changed the laws.
We do not want to have to use them, but will ‘make a lot of noise with them’ periodically for them to be heard around the neighborhood. And hopefully, keep uninvited guests away.
If one could rely on a response by local police, sooner rather than later, this would not be such a concern. -
