Check out the requirements of living here legally
Visit for extended time is possible, seeing what the areas in the country have to offer.

The reason I asked was that there is no need to show past receipts, since you haven’t been approved as yet…so no need to panic.
As far as I am aware, if you have applied as Pensionado, it has been reported that you are not now required to show the conversion….but, please, check with your lawyer.

Definitely ’a nice place to visit friends' though 😆 and do enjoy seeing the results from more moisture. We also get lots of wind. This varied climate of Costa Rica offers something for everyone, but take the time to find out what suits you best and you can’t do this in a day visit.

Victoria, have you received your Comprobante expediente or your cedula yet? I know just recently you had to leave to renew your tourist visa.

I, too, like the Arenal, Tilaran area …but it is too wet, windy and cool for us to live there!

Make that an extended round trip and check out various parts of the country.

It definitely isn’t cold here in Guanacaste, but I was stung by one on a ‘very delicate part of my anatomy’ 😯 while in bed on Sunday, in the middle of the night! I had changed the bed linens that morning and had placed folded laundry on the bed as I was putting it away. Whether or not I had brought one inside, I don’t know, but did smash it into many pieces on the floor!
One negative about hanging the laundry outside…

How about AA? A friend recently flew his dog as baggage. Pets traveling a baggage
I would guess it depend on how big your big dog is… and what breed it is.

United allow certain breeds/size dogs to fly as cargo which means using a broker.
Also ground temperature must be taken into consideration.
Flying a pet from Canada is more involved…

Where in Canada are you located? If you are ‘near’ Toronto, consider checking with COPA Airlines

Because he is being shipped as cargo due to his size and is unaccompanied, you will be required to use a broker, hence the expense.

If you have a 90 day tourist visa, you are required to leave the country…but you are not guaranteed to be given another 90 days. If you do don’t have a Costs Rican drivers license, you will have to do this anyway, if you want to be able to continue driving here.
If you have the 30 day visa, you can it ‘renewed’ twice.

clayton, not all hotels are full in Guanacaste! There are hundreds of resorts and hotels all along the coast and some may indeed be full, but there is many you can walk into without a reservation, and have a choice of rooms.
