David, I understand that CAJA does not ‘provide’ any strips at all for diabetics. Is this correct?
While after being her a while, I really understand ‘taking the good with the bad’ but when it comes to the health of a loved one, I am ‘still out on this issue…’
And being Scottish, I am always on the side of saving money!

When I read or hear the someone is going/hoping to teach English, it really sounds simple. But it isn’t! Unless you have studied and know how the proper way to do this, it is HARD! At least to do it correctly.
I was speaking with an teacher from the USA the other day, who previously taught Kinder, Gr 1 & 2 for 20 years, and she explained that she never realized how complex the English language is.
And we all know, there are special people who can teach well.

I would honestly question, that for for anyone here that requires medications that are only available in another country or at least available at a descent price, why they would ‘risk/consider’ living here?
Relying on the mail to deliver, paying ‘ransom’ and just the thought of needing emergency hospitalization really concerns me. Obviously the private hospitals would be used and I know they are very good.
CAJA as we know if OK for emergency treatment in the case of accidents and heart attacks, but for a continuing chronic condition that one is already aware of, would cause me to really reconsider this move.
After being in an accident 5 months ago, with ‘potential life threatening’ injuries have really made me ‘rethink’ about what is available.
I am still recovering and have had to use many different private practitioners/services.

I’m glad you’re trying to ‘do the right thing’. And agree that you are in a ‘catch 22’ situation.

Since your son is already 2 1/2 yrs old, you ‘should’ have already had your permanent residency, based on a first-degree relative status, as it is the easiest method, by now.
If, you proceeded immediately, that is, once he was born or even before. How long have you actually resided here?
Did you ‘work’ prior to having a child or are you independently ‘wealthy’?
Or, dare I ask, can afford to deposit the 13 months alimony, but choose not to?

I have done no business with Randy Berg, but am sure that not every real estate deal has been ‘bad’. As DavidCMurray pointed out,”No matter whether you’re dealing with Randy, with one of Scott’s preferred real estate agents”, I am also certain that not every deal/partner that Scott has advertised on his website…unbeknown to him… has always proved to be 100% truthful.
And pay attention as he emphasizes, ‘DON’T BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU’RE TOLD’!
And also as enduro states “The cost of all of this “due diligence” is minor compared to not doing it…”
If you have read a posting by ‘sunnysadie ‘Problems with property infrastructure’ further down this page, merits the need for independent lawyers.
And Scott, hope your ‘numbers’ stay as good after you ‘make the change’ charging admission to access this site…

2bncr, I expect you think you are funny, but you are probably as we say ‘funny peculiar’ when you posted “My we have selective cultural assimilation patterns don’t we? Could it be that telling someone you cannot tend to the most basic bussiness chores or they are violating the law could be designed to disuade more gringos from working here? Just a thought: but, toilet paper oragami is perfectly acceptable so not to offend the host. Seems the dicatomy is a bit ethnocentric”.
    At least I can spell…

Even if you, 2BNCR, consider it ‘rubbish’ that to ‘answers their telephone and locks their doors’ could cause immigration to jump in make charges.
Of course, it is not a common occurrence, but it does and can happen

Soldier, could you please be more specific as there are few different areas here with the name ‘Hermosa’ in them.

He ‘overstayed his visa’ too many times.
A suggestion though. Let you daughter have a ‘three month vacation’ here, particularly if she hasn’t been here before, to make sure she liked it, and before she tried to open a business here or started residency proceedings.
Has she owned/operated a business before? In this type of business?
    Does she speak Spanish?
Realize that over 50%…according to many folk/forums…of those who have moved here, return to their home grounds within the first year, due their expectations were not met.

Instead of purchasing the commercial products we were advised to flush ‘raw meat or chicken skin’ that has been removed etc to keep the bacterial action, working.

Even purchasing any business, in the $$$$$’s this may not allow your daughter to qualify under ‘investor status’. This is pretty hard to achieve.
She must take into consideration, that to be able to purchase this business for $30,000, it will probably not generate thousands of dollars a month. So, since she cannot ‘physically perform’ the labor, she must hire staff even to perform the most basic tasks, plus pay their CAJA/INS/yearly ‘aguinaldo’ payment for each worker. Even to answer the phone and take reservations or lock up at night, is considered ‘work’.
She will also be required to leave the country to re-new her tourist visa, periodically. She could also be refused re-entry, then what will happen to her business?
This recently happened to a successful and respected restaurateur who had lived here for many years, and now he will probably lose everything, since he cannot return for 10 years.

We only throw ‘wet’ tissue in the basket, and have never had any illnesses…
And while you say fredo “let tham empty the tank more often” if you visit Tico’s home, you should respect their wishes.

Fredo, in answer to your question, it is a very common occurrence to find a “…a waste basket, next to it, to throw your used toilet paper in. Why is this? And, could this be sanitary”?
This is done in homes, businesses and hotels throughout the country, to stop septic systems getting blocked, and hence the need to be emptied so often.

I certainly agree with Countdowns comments.
There are many other reputable sales agents, developers & lawyers ‘out there’ or I should say, here in Costa Rica. And just because they are advertised on this site, doesn’t necessarily make them ‘honest’.
One thing I don’t like about this site, that links to other websites, are often removed.
There are things I do like, though…

I should add those ‘posting’ or ‘responding’ are not always honest, either.
