Actually, you will not need a prescription for most medications here unless you want a heavy narcotic. I am on two different bp meds, and all I needed to do was find(key word)the pharmacy that stocked the product.The pharmacy at CIMA or the larger chain pharmacies usually have, or will locate, your prescribed needs.

Please excuse my unneeded post, I did not see that David had addressed this idea in a previous post.

Please read this article from the EPA before ripping out counter tops and pizza oven stones or running off to CIMA for radon poison testing.
Thanks for the quick response! I will try that since apparently I bought a GMS phone which is not the type for a cell phone service with ICE (using a corp). Going back to the store where I purchased my phone they said the type I needed runs about $400…
If you go the route of prepaid then you have the correct phone. If you want a regular contract with ICE, you will have to purchase a 3G phone(make sure its on their approved list) but it should be much less than $400.00.
Well, Tom, what I read in one of the books about Costa Rica contradicts that, but I’ve been wrong before.

Did the website actually give you any good (and intelligible) information? If yes, how’s about posting it here?
Information – yes, intelligible – I will let you be the judge of that

I also consulted with Arden Brink(ShipCostaRica.com) about importing a used vehicle and she wanted to know everything about the car including mileage, accessories, model et al.
Customs uses The Black Book to determine the vehicle’s value. My understanding is that mileage, condition, trim level, accessories, etc. are not taken into account when determining taxable value.
Hola David,

When I checked the Hacienda website to see how much the taxes would be on a car I was thinking about importing, the site asked about trim level, accessories etc. Which makes me believe that the taxes do take into account the extra goodies but, as always, assuming anything here …
According to la Nacion today there is a c117,000 fine (about US$215) for anyone using “polarizado en el parabrisas delentero o tradero de los carros.

So front and back tinted windows are NOT allowed but it did not say anything about side windows…

Scott
I just purchased a new(well, new for me)car two days ago and the rear window was shaded, and I was very concerned because I had seen this same story. I stopped at the local transito station here in Palmares and an officer looked at my car and told me it was OK because it was original equipment. The window was shaded permanently and was not a film applique.
you’re kidding, right? How about starting with Google, then look for something like this:

Hey jd, why don’t lighten up with your constant criticism. You really are not being much of a help to anyone.
Having traveled the new highway twice now, I’d say that I doubt very seriously if truck traffic on the old highway is changed at all. I did not see many trucks or buses on the new route, and really don’t expect to, since it is, after all, a toll road.
Actually, there is much less traffic. I would guess 40 to 50% less. With that said, Santa Semana will be the true test.

I am always amazed at the “experts” making blatant statements of fact which turn out to be nothing more than rhetoric. The facts of this new law and the interpretation of enforcement of this law are basically unknown at this time.

Subject: Important Warning- I AM INFECTING YOU WITH HP101…..

HAPPINESS PANDEMIC (HP101) Hits Worldwide!

A Worldwide Epidemic is spreading with enormous speed.

The ‘WWO’ (World-Wellness-Organisation) foresees billions of people becoming
infected within the coming decade!

Here are the most prominent symptoms of this wonderful enlivening ‘disease’:

1). The tendency to let yourself be guided by intuition instead of acting
under pressure of fear, forced ideas and pre-conditioned behaviour.

2). A total loss of interest in:- judging others, convicting yourself and
preoccupation with things that create conflict.

3). A complete loss of the capacity to worry: This is one of the most
serious symptoms!

4). A continual pleasure in appreciating humans and things the way they are,
which weakens one’s tendency to want to ‘change’ others.

5). The desire to change oneself so that innate thoughts, feelings, emotions
and bodily matters are managed in ways that facilitate only Health,
Creativity and Love.

6). Repetitive attacks of smiling – a smile that says THANK YOU and
stimulates being at-one with all those around.

7). A growing openness towards childlikeness, simplicity, laughter and
happiness.

8). More frequent moments of communication with one’s Soul in non-duality,
that in turn creates the pleasant feeling of fulfillment and joy within.

9). Finding pleasure in acting as a Healer who spreads Joy and Light,
instead of criticism and indifference.

10). The ability to effortlessly live alone, as a couple, with family, or in
a community on the basis of equality, without any need to play the role of
executioner (or wanting to be sacrificed!).

11). A feeling of responsibility and joy to share with the world one’s
dreams of an abundant, harmonic and peaceful future for all.

12). Total acceptance of one’s own presence on Earth and the will to choose
each moment only for what is gracious, good, truthful and alive!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you want to continue living in fear, dependency, conflict, dis-ease and
conformism? If so, then at all cost avoid people who display these symptoms;
this disease is very contagious! Medical treatment can temporarily repress
the symptoms, although the progress of the disease has very often been
inevitable.
There just isn’t an ‘anti-happiness’ Vaccine’!
Because this Happiness Pandemic causes a loss of fear of death, the central
pillar upon which the beliefs of materialistic modern-day society rest,
there is now a risk of societal turmoil with a complete loss of interest in
warfare and the necessity to always be ‘right’!
Gatherings of happy people who sing, dance and celebrate life, the emergence
of people who celebrate their physical and spiritual healing, crises of
extreme joy and even Séances of collective emotional vent, are all now at
hand!
(May you infect others with ‘HP101’ where ever you go…)
