The interest is talling at a rate of approx $2 US dollars a month. I havent paid mine either and Im not gonna until some final resolution comes of this thru the courts. Just like the traffic ticket situation. Cause for all intentional purposes, transfer of property can still be negotiated at the final sales table. You can disolve the S.A. on sale day and still transfer. And since liens cant be placed on the land thru the S.A. only the Muni can place a lien, this corporate tricker is strickly for the purpose of transfer and taxes. Keep paying your property taxes and its all good. Pura Vida my friends.

Aren’t some basic civil liberties being violated from the IRS to self report, from the prespective of the right to privacy, assuming the initial use of funds have been originally taxed once? So it begs the questions, why does the US gov’t need to know what you do with your hard earned money after it’s has been originally taxed?

What about real estate commission if there is an agent? does the seller pay the commision or does the buyer pay the commision? [in advertently the buyer pay the commission] but who pay the agent? in a nation of rouge real estate agents and lack of exclusive listing contracts.

It should really be the 2 millionth “white US-Canadian-European” tourist.. b/c there surely dont count the nicas /columbians/ other not natinalities they wish to attract based on a per capita spending capacity. Even Tourism minister, Carlos Benavides, said that the Biedrons are the typical tourist Costa Rica looks to attract.

There is some truth to ggandtiki. CR is becoming [or has become] more violent.
Ex: just look at the shoot out in the Uruca a couple days ago, where 2 men on motorcycles car-jacked an business owner for the “aguinaldo” he was to give to his employees. He [the victim]jumped out of his car and began shooting at the criminal and to top it off a passer-by messenger joined him in the shootout against the assailants.

Law enforcement is understaffed, outgunned, under funded and sometimes corrupt (starting in w/ their own CR version of FBI) [sounds familiar? alike US].

5yrs ago this type of violence was unheard of [perhaps in domestic dispute, where the spouse end up murder, welcome to a crime of passionate Latin Ame.] But why has CR become a gun wielding, pseudo “wild-wild west”. Is it B/C criminal have more right then victims. [ie lack of Miranda like-rights where criminal cant be interrogated].
Civility has to return to CR. but until criminals [violent and non] aren’t looked at as Public-Enemy #1!! The Tranquilo mentality will prevail and justice will suffer. Just like every Big City from US thru Central and South America.
San Jose will be no different.

My question is why is there an anti-pensionado/rentista agenda? It’s understandable that immigration gets tough on the unemployed/criminal element, but punish those with financial means that employ housekeepers, buy local products and stimulate local economies. It beckons the question, why? whats the motive in the mist of future [or forthcomming ] tough economic times? and would that drive some either back to their home land and/or neighboring countries [ie Panama and Nicaragua?]. And as someone mention the, abondoment of homes [ie real estate]. Is Aria tring to re-capture lands for the sake of ticos. sounds like a Socialist back door tactic “ala Chavez”

Maravilla..How can we get in contact with your contractor [home builder?] Does that estimate consist of “llave en mano” keys in hand service? or does one have to haggle with the “burro”cracy and permits department. Im truely interested in seeking a reliable [trustworthy] builder. Please share with me [us] contact info. Thanks

The point is , no point, Knowledge is power an informed consumer needs to be informed and in a forum that promotes fair and balanced all points and perspectives from a mirad of sources is tantamount to democracy.
