This is a very important subject that will affect some people in more negative ways than others.
If your here surfing on the net looking for a recommended realtor than those threads should be a little bit less hostile…. But if your looking for a good… how should i say… barbaric. Then read the political ones.

DRT[/quote]Paul….I agree with you, I did get a little more……”Vocal” than I should have and to you and everyone else I apologize once again….I am sure you don’t know the history of that individual against whom my tirade was directed, but there is an instigator in our midst, and I let him get to me.
Scott is not responsible for my tirade and I can blame no one but myself, but don’t let this one instance dissuade you from enjoying or recommending this site to anyone else, as I am more upset at my lack of filter than anyone else and I guarantee that I won’t let lose on him in a public forum again…shame on me, seriously.
Please don’t take this as normal, as it is not, but I have been personally assailed by that individual more than once, and so have a LOT of other members….Difference is, I let it get to me, and I am sorry.
So Please, Don’t let this interrupt the absolutely invaluable flow of information, not just in THIS thread, but on the site as a whole…..If I had the capability, I would delete those earlier posts…..I have no excuse.

2. If you lost friends on 9/11 (as I did) you’ll know that a LOT of people – especially 911 rescue workers who heard the explosions – do NOT believe the terrorism excuse….
2. And you sincerely believe that the wiretaps and Internet connections are for “Islamic” freaks?
3. And you don’t sincerely believe it’s all connected?

The relevant portion of the Act, Title V, starts on page 27 and goes to page 48. Bad as the 30% withholding provisions are, there also are a bunch of new foreign asset disclosure requirements, reporting requirements, and other bad stuff crammed in the Act.

There are obviously many different political views in here. However my views of what is “left” and what is “right” is quite different.
If we really did have a “left” US government:
We would have centralized medicine (no private insurer could profit on you health or make decisions on your health based on their bottom line.
The corporate bail out would never have happened. The Tarp funds were created under the right sided bush admin.
We would not have been in this situation to begin with as banking regulation wouldn’t have been deleted from the books.There would be no patriot act or this new proposed police state act, (again these all were created by the bush admin or proposed by a republican (the far right))
Taxes, well yes we would have them but would get a lot more for our money and the corporate subsidies, tax breaks etc. would be gone. Medical and Education for all.
there would be very limited pork projects as the corporate lobby would not exist.
Gay and Lesbian rights…..they would have the same rights as everyone else.
No wasting billions on fences on the Mexican boarder. The Left would just heavily fine those companies that hire illegals (this doesn’t happen now) eliminating the motive for these aliens to cross into the country.
There would be no military forces in Iraq, afgan etc, no gitmo. We may actually be a neutral country.
Better homeland security the money may be spend on better x-ray machines at airports and increased security at our boarders.
The list goes on and on but I think you get the point. sounds more like Costa Rica then a police state….doesn’t it?
Folks should not think of someone based on a label….Democrat/Republican. Right now we are in an extreme right society. Obama for the most part is following the bush lead and yes is a righty, the reason there is dissent in congress is more to vote against the other party then for the the actually principle, sort of like in some of these forums. It should also be noted that its the people that choice their representatives, its the people that want this right sided government. Us “left folks” on principle didn’t vote for Obama, most probably voted for Nader (sought of our leftist spokes person). Howard Dean, a democrat isn’t too bad either.
The attack on the World trade center was a big success according to Bin-ladin. Look at our country in 2001 and look at it now. We live in a “right” country that continues to move to the right regardless if the Government is controlled by those labeled R or D. Folks are scared and allowing the government to spend anything they want to protect them, they will even let them take and spend their rights away. Its the American people that have the power to change this, but this can only happen if they educate themselves become independent thinkers and are not afraid to swim against the flow.

[/quote]I assure you Michael Moore is miss labeled, many leftist do think he is an “idiot” including Ralph Nader and while his movies at times make great points, they also don’t tell the total truth. A left government probably wouldn’t bail out those that took out loans that they couldn’t afford and wouldn’t do the many things that Michael Moore would have you think.
In any event, Micheal Moore would not have anyone “goosestepping” thats more likely with a far right government. I believe historically you will find that Nazi Germany was as far away from the Left as possible. They started from the right and just kept on going in that direction.

Member Jdocop, as I stated before you seem to be a member that gives good insight to questions concerning Costa Rica. You have been very helpful. I will not recommend this website as long as there are members like VMC and Kimball and some others that seem to use filthy language and make terrible comments towards members that are just trying to express their views. These members seem to hide behind their computers to bully. My questions to these members why did you move to Costa Rica or are thinking about moving there? Did you watch Night line last night? Northern Idaho is the perfect place for you. Check it out!
