I have written a number of times why I love the Jaco area, but feel it is always good for readers to hear from others who have chosen to live or purchase in the Jaco area and what makes it so special to them.

Recently I sat down with Aggie from New York.  Her husband and two boys purchased a condo back in 2008 and have been making Costa Rica their vacation home and getaway every since.  

When did you first visit the Jaco area?

We first visited Jaco in February of 2008.  We have traveled extensively throughout Hawaii, Europe and other places throughout the world but instantly fell in love with Costa Rica.  
We felt Costa Rica was a unique destination, we loved everything about the country, the laid-back pace, natural beauty, the warm weather and or course the people.  

When did you decide that you wanting to own property in Costa Rica?

It was a quick decision for us.  After spending a little bit of time in Jaco we were convinced this was where we wanted to spend our vacations.  

The idea of a condo suited as well because it allowed us to have someone look over it and help rent it out while we were away.

What is your favorite part of visiting Jaco?

There are so many things of love about Jaco, but for my husband and I it really feels like a second home, we feel part of a community.  The local community treats us like a family and that’s very special.  

It’s also the only place my husband can truly relax.  Coming from the chaotic New York work schedule and lifestyle, Jaco is the perfect contrast, but yet has just enough amenities for us to still not feel like we are secluded or isolated.  

How have you seen Jaco change since the first time you visited?

It seems that every year there are small improvements to town.  Sidewalks, storefronts, roads, the infrastructure gets better every year.  I feel that there are much more families and children visiting than in years past.
