Yesterday I went to court, and my son and I had to pay a $600 fine for living together in the same house (which we both co-own). The city discovered that my wife and I had decided to live in the basement of the home (a basement apartment), so that my son and his family could have the main portion of the house.

Here in Cambridge, Canada it is unlawful for elderly parents to live independently in the homes with adult children and their families.

I just can’t believe that I’d ever see the day when government controlled how families live within the confines of their own homes. East Indians families in our area are turning strings of homes into compounds but the government doesn’t touch them.

So here’s why I’m leaving Canada – even though I was born here 62 years ago – for Costa Rica.

Excessive taxation is nothing less than legalized theft. Governments in Canada take approximately 50% of our earned incomes each year in various forms of tax.

This theft deprives many Canadians of having enough money to send their children to university, or even take a vacation. The Canadian government has also destroyed our quality of life by allowing an excessive number of immigrants into the country over the past few decades.

This continual flood of immigrants will guarantee that our taxes continue to rise.

There was a time when every Canadian had a family doctor, but due to excessive immigration we are now required to line up at walk in clinics, and sometimes wait for hours to see a physician.

The Canadian government is also on a mission to strip the right of free speech from citizens, mostly due to the demands from certain imported groups. The Human Rights Tribunal in Ontario have stated that “the truth is no defence” in their courts.

Many Canadians have been fined, and some put in prison for attempting to exercise free speech. Yes! Canada does have political prisoners. Here in Canada politicians who become involved in corruption are never punished, such as in the Sponsorship Scandal or Gun Registry, which seen more than a billion dollars vanish.

Municipal governments in Canada are also on a mission to take control of how families live within the confines of their own homes. For example: An elderly parent who wishes to live independently in the home of an adult child, in something as simple as a basement apartment “are not permitted to do so.

It is against the law in virtually every municipality to provide such accommodation for your elderly parents.

This elder abuse by government doesn’t even take place in third world countries.

Canadian families can hardly pay their gas and hydro bills, or high property taxes, but our government still introduces the HST and SMART METERS. On top of all this abuse by government we suffer through six months of the year in freezing temperatures.

I’m running out of space here, so the last thing I’ll say is “I’m so happy to be getting out of Canada.”

Costa Rica here we come and this is a country where we will have:

  • No more turbans…
  • No more complaining Muslims.
  • No more government that caters to the desires of minorities.
  • No more witnessing attacks on Christianity.
  • No more thinking about Jamaican gangs shooting up the streets of Toronto.
  • No more paying high taxes to support excessive immigration and the list goes on and on…

I should have left Canada forty years ago, before it started to turn into the deteriorating country it is today. My sympathy goes out to my children and grandchildren that must stay here, in what will soon be a Muslim controlled country, according to stats-Canada. It’s simple mathematics.

Best of luck to all of you I leave behind on the sinking ship called “Canada.”
