The small village of Paquera is on the southeastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula and this is where the ferry from Puntarenas docks.

The old ferry could not hold too many cars so there were often long lines with people sometimes waiting for hours but now… There is a brand new 2006 purpose built ferry from a leading ship-builder in Greece with far greater capacity.

The new Paquera ferry is built for 160 cars and 900 passengers. This means that there will be less waiting and the trip from Puntarenas to Paquera will be far more comfortable than it ever has been before …

Which means that many more people will consider the southern Nicoya Peninsula area as more accessible than it has been in the past and they might just start buying more real estate in the Tambor area…

The new, fully air conditioned Paquera ferry has two levels for cars, a nice lounge area with an attractive bar and restaurant area (where you will probably find dozens of Costa Rica real estate salespeople :-)) with several flat screen televisions scattered around in the area.

After arriving in Paquera, the drive to Tambor is only 24 kilometers. It’s 48 kilometers to Montezuma, and both Mal Pais and Santa Teresa are about 58km away.

If you would like to communicate with our recommended real estate sales professional in the Tambor area – Penny Layman, who could advise you on what real estate projects have the best growth potential, please help us to help you by using the form below:
