Scott Oliver, 47, of 30 Franklin St., #2, Lynn, is charged with three counts of armed robbery in connection with three bank robberies that began in July.

Police say Oliver robbed the Sovereign Bank at 39 Exchange St. in July, the Salem Five Cent Savings Bank at 20 State St. on Aug. 21 and the Brotherhood Credit Union at 75 Market St. on Sept. 7.

Oliver reportedly admitted to the holdups and told police he robbed the banks because he “needed money to pay bills” and denied any drug issues.”

Just to reassure you, there are three big differences between that Scott Oliver (the real armed robber) and this Scott Oliver…

  1. I am 50 years old and not 47
  2. That Scott Oliver probably has more money than I do although he may have trouble spending it if he is indeed sentenced to life in prison.
  3. I have never been to Lynn, Massachusetts, I was living in Costa Rica at the time of these robberies and no doubt the US Homeland Security Gestapo could easily confirm that…

In another news item in ItemLive.com it would appear that Scott Oliver could have planned his bank jobs in more detail:

“Police said they went to his last known address of Franklin Street first and found Oliver in the common hallway outside of his apartment. Oliver was said to have shouted out, “How did you find me, did someone rat me out?” and “Damn, I left my ID on the counter there, didn’t I?” He went on to say, “I was trying to get out of there so I could get the money out of the house in case you guys came. Another five minutes, I would have been gone.””

Yeeesh!
