Prior to 2008, the community of Quepos was hardly a major attraction for visitors. In recent years; however, a series of changes have served to completely transform this community.

Among the most noticeable of those changes has been the replacement of the two bridges that previously slowed down incoming traffic.

In addition, a new coastal highway has been constructed from San Jose, thus significantly reducing driving time.

The construction of several new parks in the community, along with a beautiful new pedestrian waterfront promenade has served to make Quepos quite visitor friendly.

First purchased by PIMSA in 2011, the marina is slated to become a major draw for the area. That transformation began in 2013 when the marina hosted the Offshore World Championship. Within just a few months, the commercial areas as well as the marina underwent significant changes.
