It is amazing the convergence and evolution of lifestyles here on the Pacific Coast and especially in the community of Quepos and Manuel Antonio.

Having arrived here as a young, single, college graduate, in the mid 1990’s I remember the fledgling days of this community, the nightlife, dancing, and cheap rum!

Now, as a business owner, husband and father of two amazing little girls, my love for this community has grown stronger than ever while my day to day interactions and lifestyles have changed all together.

While the stunning beauty of this area, its iconic national park, beaches and wildlife continue to define the destination on an international market.. I find that perhaps the most dynamic and attractive part of living and owning property here is the diversity of the area and the lifestyles it offers.

Last night, I sat marveling at a magical sunset from the Barba Roja Restaurant with a table of friends, old and new and quickly had four tables which surrounded us in a group conversation, sharing stories, laughter, happy hour drinks and our kids chicken fingers.

What amazed me was the diversity which surrounded my family.. There I sat, a Jewish guy from Alabama, with my Tica wife and two little girls.. to my left, one of my old college friends now in the US Marine Corp, just returned from 3 year tour in Afghanistan, three British women (a writer, a master dive instructor and a rogue), just on the other side of them sat a family from Bersheva, Israel who just moved here with their two kids to start a new life, two gay couples from Provincetown, a table of some great friends from the local area just out of the water after a surf session, a table of 20 young college students on a 6 week biology study here in paradise and an assortment of expats from other areas came and went.

In many ways, what surrounded us at the Barba Roja that night BEST encapsulates living in Manuel Antonio and the lifestyle you will enjoy whether you are visiting or relocating.

Manuel Antonio is neither the 5 star perfection of an all encompassing resort like the Four Seasons, nor the raw untouched beauty of more remote destinations in Costa Rica or the world.. it is a place where those who enjoy the best from all worlds, walks of lives and lifestyle can flourish..

Single or married, homosexual or heterosexual, young kids or grandparents, sophisticated or backpacker.., there is and will be something for everyone here in the area.

Perhaps the greatest joy is that more than just having something for everyone, it is a destination where EVERYONE shares in EVERYTHING and status, financial success, color or taste seems to get in the way of sharing in this magical destination.

If you are someone that thrives on diversity… going local one night, eating filet mignon and champagne the next; adrenaline filled tours in the morning soothing massages in the evening, salsa dancing till dawn or dozing off just after the sunset… welcome home to Manuel Antonio and Quepos.
