Costa Rica is a paradise in many different ways. While it is true that people from all over the world dream of vacationing or moving here, there are many who don’t necessarily have what it takes to be happy in Costa Rica.

I know, I’ve met quite a few of them, and they all have one thing in common that keeps them from discovering Costa Rica’s acclaimed happiness, they lack PATIENCE.

Here is the definition of patience: an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay.

It couldn’t have been defined any better. Going to the bank, filing papers at a government office, having a car fixed, ordering at a restaurant, Costa Rica WILL test your patience, but its how you deal with it that will result in your experience.

Ironically its that slower pace that most of us fall in love with, but as most of us are from North America we sometimes forget that we can’t always expect things at a snap of a finger and need to show PATIENCE.

Learning to take your time and allow for delays can be a process for many, but in Costa Rica it’s definitely a trait that must be acquired.

So next time you find yourself in Costa Rica beginning to get upset over some sort of delay, remember to have some patience, and that good things come to those who wait.
