Many golf courses use more pesticides, fungicides and insecticides than a typical farm would use which is not only dangerous and deadly for any creature that dares to tread on one of those velvety greens, it can also be very bad for your health if you play on or, live near a golf course.
“Pesticides pose health risks, both acute and chronic, from common cold like symptoms, nausea, dizziness, headaches, rashes, to birth defects, learning disabilities, infertility, leukemia, various cancers including brain cancer, breast cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.”
Some really silly golfers lick their balls (??) which has led to acute hepatitis caused by the toxins in the herbicide (also known as agent orange) sprayed on the greens, leading to a very serious and often deadly medical condition known as ‘golf ball liver.’
If you know someone who does lick their golf balls please make sure they know they are literally risking their lives in doing so…
So I was impressed when my good friend Daveed Hollander in Dominical told me about the Southern Pacific coast’s first and most affordable golf course resort community which plans to be “100 percent organic in three-to-four years.”
The first nine holes of this well funded 18 hole Costa Rica Golf Resort Community course are already completed, the driving range will be open later this month and the golf academy and condos are under construction with the grand opening planned for mid 2009.
If you love golf and want to stay healthy while you play, this is a ‘must see!’

- Condo prices start at US$219,000 and these introductory prices are less than 50% of the most reasonably priced condos in the nearest golf course on the Central Pacific coast but as construction progresses, prices will be increased so today would be a good time to get more information…
- If you haven’t yet visited this little slice of heaven on the Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, you may not know that the paving of the 45KM stretch of the coastal highway from Quepos and Dominical is 95% complete and as word gets out and as the market warms up again, we anticipate prices moving significantly higher.
- Lastly, haven’t we all had enough of the daily scare-the-crap-out-of-you tactics? Bird flu insanity, Nigerians with exploding undies that should never have been allowed on the plane to begin with? Yellow/orange/red alerts and at the end of it we have what?
You’re still alive and kicking, you’re still dreaming, you will still retire and you can still live the life you always knew you deserved but never thought you would have so, while you have a minute, take a look at Costa Rica’s Most Affordable Golf Resort Community here and …
