New futon

Can anyone recommend a good source for a quality wood futon?
We bought one before our move, without actually seeing it, and shipped it down in our container, still boxed from factory. It was a bi*ch to assemble, cheaply made and very difficult to operate. The hard rubber “guides” that are supposed to “glide” in the wooden tracks cracked and broke, and the frame had so many weak butterfly joints in it that broke…..
Anyway, we are looking for a good quality new futon. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Bill, Google “Fine Furniture of Sarchi”. See if they don’t offer futons or email them and see about having one made. Their work is first class.

Bill, you are in Samara correct? If so I have a guy that makes rock solid futons in San Francisco de Coyote – let me know if that’s close enough and I’ll get you his contact information.
