I have to share this otherwise I’m going to explode – it’s so pathetic!

You probably know one of my pet peeves is the farce called “Homeland Security” and other mostly useless measures that have been implemented around the world “for your security.”

Did you see the news story about American Airlines losing four Glock handguns belonging to the security guards protecting the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahoo?

The Wall Street Journal also comments:

“The security officers arrived in Washington Sunday evening, but the case with the four guns didn’t, the officials said. American Airlines personnel found the case, with its Washington destination tag still on it, at a Los Angeles Airport terminal at around 4 p.m…

The locked case—which wasn’t checked by the American personnel who found it in L.A. to see if it still had the weapons—was put on an American flight to Chicago and then to Washington, the officials said. When the security officers opened the case, they discovered that the four Glocks were missing, the officials said.”

They didn’t just put them on the wrong plane! Four powerful Glock handguns have disappeared into thin air!

    Now don’t you feel safer?

. . . as they have for decades. Who among us is prepared to give up Medicare, Medicaid or the VA health system in favor of . . nothing? And there will be at least some hope of recourse. Who do you suppose is running your health care today? Name one corporate decisionmaker whose finger is on the button of your healthcare decisions. You didn’t think it was your doctor, did you?

Who do I think is running my healthcare today? That’s very easy to answer: I AM! I get to choose my own doctors and I get to decide what procedures I want to have and when. I am just not looking forward to the day when Obamacare gets into full swing that having the option of choosing the specialists of my choice and deciding together with my doctor what procedures may be appropriat turns into an ordeal similar to going to your local DMV or Immigration office or Social Security office or ANY government bureaucratic agency as will likely and eventually be the case. Government should stick to it’s original intent which is to pave roads..maintain a strong military..and a couple other things…NOT trying to RUN A BUSINESS or Healthcare.

they are already in the business of running healthcare, and say what you will, medicare is just not that bad as healthcare programs go. better than most HMOs run by bean counters. i never had to get approval from anyone to see a specialist when i had medicare. i just made an appt and went.

Yes….BUT…As Government/Medicare continue to cut back their level of payments to doctors…in time…the better doctors…the better SPECIALISTs…that DON’T NEED Medicare patients if they’re no lonegr economically viable to the doctors economic goals will simply hang a sign on their window “We Do Not Accept Medicare Patients”. Then that doctor whom you really liked and may have been seeing for years may no longer be able to see you and you’ll wind up having to find another doctor that does accept Medicare (In many cases a doctor from a Third World country) as the really good and really successful doctors will adapt their businesses so they get paid what they think they’re really worth NOT what Uncle Sam thinks they’re worth. As BROKE is Medicare and Medicaid are I think that is the path we are headed towards.

third world doctor??? what the H does THAT mean? i’ve had some really fine third world doctors in NYC and BH, and even here in Costa Rica. not ALL doctors are Jewish! jjjjj don’t move here if you don’t want a third world doctor! actually those doctors CARED about what was wrong with me rather than handing me a scipt for some bogus drug i didn’t need. but you are right that many specialists no longer accept medicare but there are still plenty who do.

Even before Obamacare kicks in, there are going to be a lot less doctors! There are many making plans, as we speak, about getting out of health care. There are going to be less doctors, longer waits, and with less qualified doctors. The Obamacare death panel, will be making the decisions on what care you get, and the cost and your age will have a lot to do with it. And if you are not following doctors orders…like buying twinkies when you need to lose weight and ending up with diabetes, you will be denied care. The government has already announced this!! They are monitoring what you buy at the grocery store, all stores and every aspect of your life as well to be exact!

If you are really worried about your health look up Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Get his books and read them. If you think the government is screwed up already, you won’t be surprised how bad the USDA nutritional guidelines are for you. The food pyramid, RDA’s and “basic food groups” are all based on what people eat and what lobbyists for the beef and dairy industry want NOT science or medicine. IF you eat what the U.S. government recommends (and taught US and still forces schools to teach to children) you WILL have high blood pressure, probably be over weight AND probably end up with diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

Eat a good high nutrition diet low on salt, meat and processed foods and you MAY be able to avoid most of the so called “diseases of old age”. Costa Rica with all its fresh produce is the perfect place for it.

with so many diseases caused by lifestyle, if that fatty is eating donuts, why should i pay for their obesity and diabetes? it is so easy to eat healthy in costa rica. just stay out of the supers except to buy toilet paper and olive oil, and buy all that you eat at the local ferias. and stay away from the doctors unless you are bleeding from every orifice.
