Casa Laurin pays special attention to those who are visiting for dental work or minor surgery and supports the medical patient by providing any service to make the procedure less stressful.

Depending on the surgery, Ginette will prepare special meals and snacks, compresses, arrange for medications, coordinate your appointments, assist you with language barriers (both French and Spanish), order taxis, and even work with your doctor to assure your health care needs are met.

During recovery, you can rest and enjoy bird songs while sitting on the comfortable patio bordered by a garden filled with tropical plants and flowers or in the large living room with comfy seating for relaxing and reading.

Books are heavy in your luggage and we have thought about that – we have shelves full of English books of all kinds including one entitled Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster with a Relaxation/Healing CD. Of course while you are recovering you will have many opportunities to spend time with other guests and perhaps play board games or have coffee together as well as talk about their dental work, their surgery and their progress along the way, exchanging information about the pain, the improvements, the change in appearance, and overall support each other.

Each morning a complimentary breakfast is provided, with guests meeting in the dining room or the outdoor terrace, enjoying Costa Rican coffee, fresh tropical fruits, and typical breakfast fare with a Canadian flair. (For example, French crepes with Canadian maple syrup). Other meals can be custom prepared, ordered in, or Ginette will recommend excellent affordable restaurants within walking distance or a short cab ride from the B&B.

What is also special at Casa Laurin is the ‘before and after’ support. For many, going to a foreign country for medical care can be stressful. Even before you leave your home Ginette will converse with you by email or by telephone to discuss your specific needs and expectations and to answer your questions and reassure you about what life is going to be at the B&B.

Even during your stay at Casa Laurin you don’t need to be isolated from your loved ones. We offer free phone call to the United States & Canada – minimal fees to call other countries.

Ginette arranges everything beforehand. When you get here, an English speaking taxi driver picks you up at the airport and takes you to Casa Laurin located within walking distance of your dentist’s office (short cab ride if you prefer), restaurants, banks, supermarkets, gym, Olympic size swimming pool and bus to downtown San José.

During your stay Ginette coordinates all transportation (car rental if needed). During your spare time between appointments Ginette helps you plan and arranges sightseeing tours with door-to-door transportation. Ginette often escorts guests personally to visit downtown San José.

At Casa Laurin we treat our guests with good food, excellent service, and special attention whether you travel solo or with company. We are reasonably priced with special weekly rates for medical vacationers and we like to give you the attention that you deserve and the privacy that you want.
