The project is jointly developed with the National Rehabilitation and Special Education Council, whose regional coordinator, Maria Montoya, pointed out that these persons make up a large chunk in tourism, but that they have special needs which need catering to if they are to be counted among the visitors to Costa Rica.

Milagro Rowe, of the Chamber of Tourism, added that many operators are interested in the project and willing to join, therefore there is hope for a marked increase in the arrival of handicapped tourists to Costa Rica.

Our thanks to our friends at La Nación – Costa Rica’s largest Spanish circulation newspaper for their permission to include their weekly news reviews.
