Luis Diego Quesada is a 37 year old Costa Rican who has lived in Costa Rica his entire life. He is a professional Realtor who is also member of the Costa Rican Chamber of Realtors.

“I got my bachelor degree in a local high school and left for San José in 1997 to study Civil Engineering, I did that for 3 years but didn’t get a degree because I had to come back to town to help my father with this business. During four more years here in Perez Zeledón, I studied business management courses which included Human Resources, Business Administration, Merchandising, Marketing and computer software training.

Diego lives in San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón which is a small city located 135 Km southeast of San José.

“It is a beautiful valley with green mountains and many rivers all over the place.”

“Our family started in real estate in 1985 and I have been directly involved in the business since year 2000 when I started as an assistant and then later became the Operations Manager. I have received the basic training from the Costa Rican Chamber of Real Estate Brokers (La Camara de Corredores de Bienes Raíces) and have also taken some advanced real estate related courses over the years. We have a great reputation in the whole area.”

Diego’s company has many residential properties for sale and also a large number of land and farm properties for sale of all sizes.

Q: What is your company’s philosophy?

A: “We want to do good business for all the parties involved in a transaction, in a very transparent, honest and responsible way, with the help of qualified personnel and high-end technology.”

Q: Please give us your comments on the current real estate market conditions in your area?

A: “The prices have dropped significantly from a few years ago in most areas, there are some regions that still keep their prices up but here and there a distressed seller comes along and shakes things up. A nice, simple Tico styled home in a rural area with a good garden of maybe half an acre will sell for $100K and up.

A new ‘Gringo’ type home will sell for $150K depending of course on the size of the land, the house and features like city or expansive valley view.

Land is still very affordable in San Isidro de El General and nice home sites with city or valley view can be purchased with $60K to $100K.

Some farms with great locations, even some with ocean views can be found for $250K+. We do see distressed sales from time to time where the sellers can be very flexible because sometimes the properties are in the hands of lenders who just want their money back, this presents a great chance to get a property for a lot less than the market value.”

Q: What makes you uniquely qualified to help your customers?

A: “Our experience with sales in the area and also the knowledge of the different sub-regions. We know the best areas depending on what activities you want to develop in the property, up-and-coming areas as well as traditional regions with a great potential for re-selling if required.

We have been helping clients make their real estate dreams come true in our area since 1985 and we still base our practice on a 100% transparent transactions for all the parties involved. You will be sure you know all the details of a negotiation.”

He returns emails and phone calls. He follows through on what he says he will do. He is realistic and yes, I would use him as a Realtor again and I recommend him to my friends.” Cindy B. Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica.

Mon, Jan 26, 2015 at 4:55 PM: “Diego was our realtor in the purchase of two different properties in Perez Zeledon where we now live full time. We have known Diego since 2010, worked with him in 2010 and 2011, and highly recommend him to anyone looking for property in Costa Rica. Diego is highly knowledgeable of real estate and Costa Rica, speaks excellent English, and is helpful as well with the many aspects of buying property here that are relevant to foreigners, beyond simply finding and purchasing a property.

He is consistently thorough and timely in his work; is a great problem solver if/when the need arises; and is very supportive of his clients from property search to closing and beyond.

I hope this note serves your purposes. You may use it, if you wish, on Diego’s bio page. We have been in Costa Rica full time for 3+ years now and have had time enough to see a number of real estate transactions. Some have been “interesting”, to say the least. I cannot imagine using anyone other than Diego should the need arise in future to seek or buy other property in Costa Rica.” Sincerely, Robert Wesley Jodon.

    Hi dear Diego,

my name is Aris Laskaridis, maybe you still remember me, I am from Greece and visited San Isidro de El General around 2004. With the help of you and your father Louis, I purchased a finca near Chimirol on the way up to the Chirripo.
I had been with my wife and daughter visiting some friends at the Blue Mountain Resort, few km further up the road and came across this property at the river.
My finca is consisting of four lots of together around 36,5 Hectars right at the river.
Lately I have been thinking of the possibility of selling it and for this I´d like to hear from you how the situation and market values are doing these days.
We always had a very good, clear and effective way of communication together I would be very happy hearing back from you.

    friendly greetings,
    Aris Laskaridis
