Costa
Rica High-tech bathrooms. Water savings and the latest external design move
the market

Architects, decorators and faucet specialists think of each component of the bathroom
as a work of art. Deca, part of a
Brazilian consortium, recently organized a series of workshops offering accreditation
and certification to professionals in construction and clients who buy their bathroom
furnishings.

The workshops were to introduce the latest trends in bathroom design and use.

Simplicity and style. Toilets that don’t look like toilets, faucets
that inspire galactic dreams, showers that wake up the senses. A Deca product
designer said that modern bathrooms are above all comfortable, pleasurable rooms.

Toilets now have hidden water escapes, which means no more valves and a prettier
appearance. These toilets come in oval, round and irregular shapes, in neutral
colors such as white or bone, and in materials including ceramic, marble, crystal
or stainless steel.

The demands of a more informed public have made designers think beyond a simple
stream of water. They envision a bath as an experience of pleasure in every sense.
As a result, Deca sells cromotherapy and aromatherapy showers in
Brazil.

Cromotherapy showers combine water with a beam of colored light that allows for
a relaxing or energizing bath according to the color.

Aromatherapy showers blend the bath with a choice of aromas that vaporize in the
bathroom.

Water conservation. New models respond not only to esthetics but also to
water conservation. Thanks to new technology, mechanisms use less water for emptying
the toilet and water-conservation systems in faucets reduce the consumption of
water.

One of the most interesting products offered is the Hydra valve, a system that
empties toilets, benefits water conserving, and looks modern, since the toilet
no longer needs an exposed water tank. This is new to Costa Rica and is being
recommended for new buildings, because its installation demands pipes that make
us of the water tank and are above the toilet.
