The 2011 Costa Rica Franchise Show will be held on the 25th August 2011 at the Convention Center, Hotel Ramada, Plaza Herradura.

Franchise Expo seeks to promote choices in national and international franchises which are available as business opportunities to enable you to invest in Costa Rica.

The show is part of the “Strengthening and growth of small businesses through franchising” project run by the Chamber of Commerce and is funded by the Inter-American Development Bank. The project aims at the marketing and expansion of business in Costa Rica through franchising.

The franchise system and its expansion worldwide has enabled many companies to reach new markets and customers and, to expand its business model through a proven system that provides services and opportunities which benefits all parties involved.

The advantages are easily visible and identifiable to the parties involved, because not only does franchising generate economic benefits and a highly secure business model, it also gives you have a higher chance of success and allows you to cope better with increasing competition. Moreover, the benefits associated with this model, such as job creation, innovation, new knowledge and technology are also attractive.

The implementation of this system has given consumers the opportunity to access a wide range of high quality products and services.

When you buy into a franchise, you’re typically investing in a proven idea and

According to the Franchise International website, the event is due to attract over 60 exhibiting companies and over 1000 visitors are expected to participate.

The aim of Expo Franchise is to establish a forum where companies interested in expanding their business can meet local and regional companies and individuals looking to set up a franchise. The event will include a range of conferences on topics such as: How to Chose and Buy a Franchise; Franchising Options for Setting up a Franchise; and Structuring your Company under the Franchise Model.

Franchisors looking to expand their brand can benefit from Costa Rica’s highly qualified workforce, the country’s strategic location in the Americas and the peaceful and democratic business environment.

The franchise industry in Costa Rica grew by 14 per cent in 2010 compared to the previous year. International brands represent 89 per cent of the total franchises established in the country.

Franchises in the food and drink sector correspond to 24 per cent of all franchises in the country. Other important sectors are:

  • Fashion (such as apparel stores): 19 per cent
  • Hotels: 19 per cent
  • Health and beauty (such as gyms, beauty centres): 8 per cent
  • Car rentals: 8 per cent
  • Real estate agencies: 3 per cent
