After fastening a cord to his parked car on a
bridge on Saturday morning and then tying it
to his waist and feet, 33 year old Carlos Luis
Abarca Valverde
is presumed to be dead
after the cord snapped and he fell into the
crocodile infested river.

His brother took video of this unfortunate
event with his phone but even after an
extensive search by his family who witnessed
it, the local Red Cross and nearby neighbors,
the body of Sr. Valverde was not found and
local residents feared that he had probably
been attacked and eaten by some of the
many crocodiles which live in the river.

I know that any chicken farmers we have as VIP
Members would never try this themselves however,
if you are coming to Costa Rica to engage in
“adventure tourism” we would encourage you
to not try to do it yourself and insist on
only dealing with proven tour operators who know
the area, the risks involved and who will
hopefully have your safety as their primary
concern.
