Intel Corp. is to transfer 126 jobs from California to Costa Rica. The jobs affected correspond to the Technical Assistance Center in Folsom, California, one of the largest production plants Intel has around the world.

The aim of the move is to lower operational costs and to strengthen the presence of Intel in the Latin American market.

An Intel spokesperson said the workers at Folsom will not lose their jobs, but will be transferred to new positions. In Costa Rica, Intel employs some 2,100 people.
