As you can see from the photographs, this week was window week… All of the sliding windows have been installed in our retirement home as well as the two large sliding doors or puertas corredizas.

All of the windows and doors can be opened from either side and they have done an excellent, ‘perfectionist’ job which is why we chose Jimmy in the end anyway…. The only little job that remains for Jimmy – our window & door man – is the one large sliding glass door for the shower.

They have finished putting the grouting on the terrace floor tiles and have also installed the floor tiles and wall tiles in the bathroom but have yet to finish the grouting in the bathroom.

My lady can’t seem to resist buying plants so we already have a dozen or so bougainvillea planted soaking up that hot Costa Rica sun… She has even brought a few items of furniture.

They also began installing the canoas or as we would call them – the gutters along the roof. The rainy season is not that far away so part of the crew will be getting to properly sealing all of the wood on the house this week.

Next week will be significantly more expensive for me as we have to order all the materials for the chimney and the separate building which will house the garage area, the bodega and the pila which is where the washer and dryer will be stored…
