So many e-mails I have gotten in the past year start off with something along the lines of, “I’m afraid property near the beach is out of my reach now” or “It seems my dream of owning a house where I can walk to the beach is slipping away”.

While it’s true that a good portion of property along the coast, especially in the highly desirable Central Pacific area is priced out of many peoples range, it does not mean that great opportunities still are not available.

With large developers buying up huge tracts of land for massive gated communities and pricing lots at 4 times what they might be worth, it definitely is getting harder for many to realize their dream. Or even worse, their dreams have been dashed by having bought in one of these large developments only to find out their piece of property is too difficult and costly to ever build on.

Or as in some cases for various reasons the developer disappears once the lots are sold. In those cases they have basically left the owners with a very expensive camp site. A camp site with no roads or infrastructure even if they wanted to ever build.
