Hi all, I am a very new member to this forum and read previous posts. Wow! What a great group! Scott, I found your site through a Bing search btw.
So here’s my question:
I am currently interviewing for an expat job in CR. When my company puts a potential and negotiable relocation package in front of me as a part of the job offer, what are the top 3 things it must include? I will have no pets, a spouse with 15 years IT experience, with 1 elementary school age child and a toddler in tow if I take the job. More than likely it will be a 2-4 year assignment. Plan to rent not buy.
Would greatly welcome everyone’s thoughts on this.
Thanks!
I would suggest that education for your school age child has to be pretty high up on the list there and, with a toddler you either need to be living in a gated community with some good green space or, you’ll need a decent sized garden in which to play.
A comprehensive health insurance package that covers your entire family is important and with two children, having good and quick access to top notch emergency health care facilities has to be essential.
Your spouse will also need some kind of support system while you’re at work so she has to have access to like minded people in the area in which you choose to live …
There are lots of other things to think of but it’s real late now so I’ll have to get back to you in the morning unless, a few of our VIP Members can jump in here and help out …
