My wife and I are coming to Costa Rica next February for 3 weeks and would like to hear from expats about their experiences with regards to living in Costa Rica and the various activities and interests that are available for retirees. Does anyone know of any lawn bowling clubs in CR? Can anyone tell us about the activities available for the over 60s?
There is the ‘Canadian Club of Costa Rica’ here, http://www.canadianclubcr.com While they had to limit ‘personal correspondence’ for people wanting info about living here, consider attending some of there social events that are held throughout the year. These are easier accessed for those living in and around the central valley.
No lawn bowling offered here, as far as I know. ‘Age restricted activities’ would only be to your own ability.
Bob,
A great and active group: the Women’s Club of Costa Rica that your wife may be interested in. With over 250 members, from ages 40 to 92! Active and friendly group meets the second Wed. of each month…with varied venues. Men are welcomed to attend, tho, most of the husbands help out with their fund raising events.
Enjoy your visit!
