What does being Blue Cross/Shield approved actually mean?
Is there a way to buy Blue cross insurance in Costa Rica and does it cover medical and dental expenses? Can an American buy this insurance?
Are you referring to Dr. Mario?
If you are, please ask Charlie@welovecostarica.com
She is welcome to recommend whomever on her site, that firm is not featured on my website because I know nothing about them.
I do have a great deal of personal experience with our Recommended Health Insurance broker, his name is John MGee and you can see his articles here…

You stated that you “have no personal experience with any of these” and I have so I edited your comment because I do have “personal experience” with John McGee who handles all our family’s insurance needs and the insurance requirements of many of our VIP Members.
One of the reasons this site has been successful is because many people trust my judgement – not yours – because they know I do my homework and most of the time, I speak from significant “personal experience.”
I appreciate that you have never lived actually lived in Costa Rica, but when you do eventually have some experience living here and perhaps have your own website, you can recommend whomever you wish.
In the meantime, unknown and unproven insurance companies/agents and their promotors will not featured on my website.
Hope that clarifies it for you ….
