Can anyone please tell me the rules for 2010 regarding the amount of monthly income you must show you have to become a resident. Also, is it cheaper to be married vs.two single people?
Yes, a single or married couple must have a guaranteed pension or annuity of $1000 per month. ‘Common law’ spouses must apply separately.
If you do not have the required monthly funds, you must follow the requirements for Rentista status, which means a deposit of $150,000 (married couple/family or each individual) in an account deemed acceptable.
