Founded officially on Aug. 7, 1868, Atenas was once the strategic meeting and resting point for Costa Rican merchants traveling by oxcart with goods and coffee from the fertile Central Valley to the Pacific coastal port of Puntarenas.

Relocating to another area of the world outside your country of citizenship, by yourself or with your family is a challenging yet adventurous task. In most cases, getting Citizenship in Costa Rica is a lengthy process of which you have to have lots of patience for. My story is no exception. Although i have one parent who is a Costa Rican citizen (My Mother), getting my citizenship took 4 years and endured ‘law changes’.
