I can collect social security on my late husband’s record and make up the required difference from my own 403b. However, as I’m below full retirement age, this means that one dollar of every two I earn over $12,000/year will be deducted from the social security. I can probably also show the required investment income. I want to continue to work rather than enter as a retiree and collect any retirement or investment income.
I work as temporary labor at a distance for a few American companies. In other words, I can work from anywhere in the world and am paid as an *employee* (W2 form), *not* as a self-employed individual.
What are the requirements for residency status in this case?
