Dr. Francisco has over 35 years of experience as a Doctor. As a child he remembers breaking his arm and being in extreme pain.

The Doctor at the hospital took away that pain and from that point on he wanted to become a Doctor. Today he says this is what he loves most about his job; helping people and saving lives.

Dr. Francisco studied at the University of Costa Rica where he received his doctorate in medicine. He then went on to study English in Scotland and to get his specialty degree in Nephrology at the University of Newcastle in England and studied transplant coordination in Spain.

Dr. Francisco is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, an associate member of the European Dialysis and Transplantation board, treasurer of the Costa Rican society of Nephrology, and the coordinator of the commission of Nephrology. He is vastly experienced in his field.

Dr. Francisco has performed over 550 kidney transplants in both the public and private setting. In his private practice he does all transplants at Hospital La Catolica in San Jose, Costa Rica because it is less expensive and has all the equipment and staff that he requires. It is also close to his office so that he can be there often with his patients.

Kidney disease and the need for transplantation are on the rise. Poor eating habits, obesity, high blood pressure, stress, and overuse of medication are the prime contributing factors. Because of this there are thousands of people throughout the world waiting for a kidney transplant.

Kidney Transplants in Costa Rica - Big Savings!

The cost for a kidney transplant in the USA is normally around $250,000 whereas the cost of a kidney transplant in Costa Rica is about one third of that so it's huge savings for the patients and their families.

After the transplant another huge expense for people is the immuno-suppressant drugs necessary to take for life. In the US it averages $3,000 per month while here in Costa Rica the cost is $700 per month, more then a 2/3 savings.

In country time for the transplant is usually around 3-4 weeks, and then you can return home in far better physical shape then when you left and at a fraction of the cost. With a huge cost savings and short wait time it makes sense to look into the option in Costa Rica with nephrologist Dr Francisco Mora.

Dr. Francisco attends to all things related to kidneys; chronic or acute renal failure, polycystic kidneys, increased blood pressure and the effects of that on the kidney, transplants, treatment of rejections, peritoneal and hemodialysis, renal biopsies, and more. He is a full service nephrologist that would be pleased to assist you in anyway.
