David Karr is a professional Realtor living and working in the popular beach town of Jaco on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica since 2005. He is married to a Costa Rican lady, has permanent residency and is legally allowed to work as a professional real estate agent. As a professional real estate agent David covers Jaco and the surrounding areas which include Punta Leona, Hermosa and Esterillos. He is very knowledgeable about the entire Central Pacific region but specializes in Jaco Beach and properties in the Los Suenos Resort & Marina.
David tells me that: "My degree is in elementary education. In the U.S. I worked in teaching and in non-profit organizations. I love teaching and helping people, but have also always been an avid real estate investor. I bought my first home when I was 23 years old and have invested in real estate every since.
Being a professional real estate agent in Costa Rica really allows me to do all of those things. Teaching and helping people understand the market, showing the ins and outs of what it's like living in Costa Rica, explaining the differences with the culture, all of that is huge part of what I do everyday."

Current Jaco Real Estate Market Conditions:"The Jaco real estate market has been relatively stable. There have been some 'distressed' sales that have been 10-20% under value, but most of those have just recently been sold. If you are looking for a fire sales at 40-50 cents on the dollar that are comparable to Arizona, Vegas or Florida you simply won't find that here. Since the opening of the new highway we have seen an increase in sales specifically for ocean view and beachfront properties.
A two bedroom beachfront condo in Jaco is going to start in the high $200s, while a two bedroom beachfront with unobstructed ocean view condo in Jaco is going to start in the high $300s. I feel that this is a tremendous time to invest in Costa Rica.
We are at that stage where the infrastructure, amenities and services around us are improving on a daily basis. With the highway now complete and having 3 million people an hour away it's inevitable we will see more demand for all types of property in this market."
