With a BA from Hampden Sydney College in Virginia in Political Science, Scott Williams is a Costa Rica Realtor living in Manuel Antonio, on the Central Pacific coast. Scott has lived there for 12 years, is a legal permanent resident of Costa Rica with permission to work, is bilingual, and is a member of the Costa Rican Chamber of Realtors (CCCBR) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Scott Williams is passionate about what he does. He has been living in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica following his University graduation in 1998. Originally from Virginia, Scott landed in Costa Rica immediately following his graduation from Hampden-Sydney College in 1998, where he studied Spanish and Political Science. During his first four years in the country, he co-directed the local operation of a global outdoor education/ expeditionary outfit called Outward Bound.
Following countless adventures in Costa Rica and Central America and an in-depth study in the country's resources, people and destinations, he quickly found himself involved in a life long love affair with the country.

Starting in 2002, Scott did consulting and started a few small businesses, including a tourism center in Manuel Antonio and a property management and rental company. Having bought, sold, designed, built and remodeled several properties here, his transition into real estate in 2003 came very naturally.
Scott has some experience in basic design and building on the local landscape. He also worked closely with the owners of the real estate firm he works with in starting the company, and specializes in residential and hotels in the Central Pacific and Southern Zone.
Having visited over 50 countries around the world, Scott always returns to Costa Rica with a smile on his face and a thankfulness that he calls Costa Rica 'home.'

It's currently a buyer's market; however, the situation in Costa Rica is one that did not dramatically crumble like in the US due to lack of sub-prime crisis, massive foreclosures & more conservative fiscal policy locally. We have a diversity of buyers and seller and maintain a healthy supply and demand equation, making our market less vulnerable to volatility and attractive to a wider range of participants.
There is a lot of smart money here, especially with a strong multi-national business presence and newly passed free trade agreement. Lots of up-side still in this market with improving infrastructure, amenities and services, overall quality of life, sound banking, low health care, etc.
Home sites from $75K to $350K, condos from $125K to $650K, homes from $250K to $850K, hotels from $750K upwards.

We came to Costa Rica two years ago on a vacation and to check out the real estate possibilities. Once we arrived in Manual Antonio we were greeted by Scott at our hotel and plans were made to look at several properties in and around Quepos. Over the next 2 days Scott not only gave us a tour of this region but gave us practical as well as personal information on life in Costa Rica.
As we spent time viewing various properties with Scott we both got the impression that he was more interested in developing a relationship with us than he was in selling a particular property.
