The weather has continued to be remarkably wet which has prevented us from doing any more work in the garden and has also made the access road to the property very, very muddy.

To complicate matters further, it would appear that there has been a serious rupture in the relationship between the maestro de obra (the foreman) and the rest of the construction crew. Juan Carlos is probably one of the sweetest - and hardest working - human beings you could possible meet and, if what we have learned in the last week is true, he has been very much taken advantage of by the others which has been very disappointing for us...

Since Juan Carlos took out a mortgage on his home to fund the purchase of a some expensive equipment like a portable sawmill for their construction company, we will be visiting an attorney with him next week to try and extract him from what could be a risky scenario. Unfortunately we were given the wrong adapter in the hardware store to connect the stove to the gas tank so we were unable to cook.

We could have gone out for dinner but made do with a salad mixed with a can of red salmon and some wholewheat toast - Yup! We have a toaster - not quite the fillet mignon dinner we had planned - although it was still quite tasty accompanied with a lovely bottle of Argentinian cabernet ...
We are very pleasantly surprised at how incredibly quiet it is in this area and this morning's sunrise was simply breathtaking ...
